Mont Ventoux and Alps Tour with Sportive Breaks
The most important Grand Tour of the year has a brilliant and very challenging final week in store. After the final rest day on Monday 21 July, we see the return of Mont Ventoux. After a sprint stage with finish in Valence, two classic Alpine stages follow. Stage 18 on Thursday 42th of July finishes on the Col de la Loze near Corchevel. Stage 19 on the friday, takes the riders from Albertville to the ski resort in La Plagne.

Tour Dynamic
Daily Rides
We offer a guided ride each day. We have our bike guides on the road with you. We also have a support vehicle with driver who is also a mechanic. We will either transport everyone to a location from where we will start the daily rides, or we will ride straight out from the hotel. We offer vehicle support for the riders and the spectators will be transported to the day’s touristic venue or to a vantage point to watch the race.
Transportation
On days where we move on to another hotel, we will transport luggage, bike boxes and bikes and we will offer an adapted itinerary depending on the day’s logistics.
Spectators
Riders and spectators may have a different itinerary daily but are reunited to enjoy the race watching experiences together. We attempt to keep hotel changes and transfers to a minimum.

Cyclists and Spectators
Our tour is suitable for both cyclists of any level and non-cycling spectators. The hotels we stay at are in excellent locations with the world-renowned French cuisine we all enjoy so much.
Our daily, guided rides give cyclists the opportunity to ride some of the most beautiful climbs that feature on the 2025 Tour de France.
We stay in nice places but we will also provide plenty of opportunity for spectators to enjoy time away from the Tour de France with scheduled visits to local towns and villages.

Day To Day
Day One - Bienvenue en France

Our hosts will collect you from Geneva Airport and we will transport you to Vaison La Romaine in Provence. For this tour we offer group airport transfers at set times included with your tour.
Please note that you are not obliged to arrive at Geneva airport and that you are free to make other arrangements to join us on this tour.
On Sunday 20 July we offer a group airport transfer from Geneva airport for you and your luggage and bike box or bag. Our airport transfer will depart Geneva airport at 14.00. Please ensure that your flight arrives well before this time.
The first hotel on our tour is hotel Bastide de Vaison. We will stay here for the next 3 nights on half board basis so with breakfasts and evening meals included.
On arrival at the hotel our hosts will assist you with preparing your bike if you have travelled with your own bike and rental bikes will also be available today.
This evening our team will hold a welcome meeting at the hotel over dinner.

Day Two - First Riding Day - Mont Ventoux

After breakfast we will guide the cyclists for our first cycling experience together. All rides will be supported by our bike guides on the road plus we will also provide mechanical support and regular food, and drink stops from our support vehicle.

Within 30 minutes there is a lovely chateau and winery where we will enjoy a tour before having some lunch and enjoy some wine tasting.
This evening, we will enjoy the evening meal together at the hotel.

Day Three - Guided Ride and first live action

Today we will have our first interaction with the race as the riders tackle the stage from Montpellier to Mont Ventoux.
On guided cycling days our team will support you on the road with vehicle support that includes regular stops for drinks and snacks.
Spectators can join us on the tour vehicle, and we will endeavour to get as close to the action as possible. We will drive to the foot of Mont Ventoux and walk to a good vantage point to watch the stage.
We will enjoy the evening meal together at the hotel.

Day Four - Stage Viewing

We will check out of the hotel and make the journey to the next stop on our tour. No need to pack away your bikes as they will be transported fully assembled.
On the way to the Alps today we will stop in Bollene to see the start of today’s stage.
On arrival in Brides Les Bains, enjoy the hotel pool or have a walk around the town.
We will enjoy the evening meal together at the hotel In Brides Les Bains.

Day Five - Courchevel Col de la Loze

Today we will witness the first of two epic mountain stages that will decide who will arrive victoriously in Paris on the Champs Elysees on Sunday. The riders will ride up from the hotel to the Col de la Loze. Spectators can watch the stage as it comes past Brides Les Bains today.
Our hotel is well-located for stage access for both cyclists and spectators.

Day Six - Albertville - La Plagne

Today there is the second of two epic mountain stages that will decide who will arrive victoriously in Paris on the Champs Elysees on Sunday.
After a long descent from the Cormet de Roselend the riders hit the valley before commencing the climb to La Plagne. Our guided rides leads us from the hotel up to the finish in La Plagne where we will await the arrival of the riders. Spectators will see the action in Aime La Plagne.
Our hotel is well-located for stage access for both cyclists and spectators.

Day Seven - Guided Ride

Location
After the madness, we will stay an additional day to enjoy this part of the Alps. We will offer a guided ride in the area plus the opportunity to relax another day in this beautiful part of the world.
Our guided ride takes us further up the Tarentaise Valley to Bourg Saint Maurice and the Col du Petit Saint Bernard. The summit lies on the Franco-Italian border. We will drop into the Aoste valley and break for lunch before returning the way we came.
Final evening meal in Brides Les Bains.

Day Eight - Au Revoir

After breakfast it’s the end of your experience. Our tour finishes on Sunday 27th July with an optional airport transfer back to Geneva airport.
Paris Extension – Available at additional cost
For those who would like the opportunity to experience the final stage in Paris we offer a Paris extension. Please note that we will not have staff in Paris so you must make your own arrangements when there. You will catch the TGV from nearby Chambery early in the morning on Sunday and it takes just 3 hours to reach Paris. On arrival check into hotel Mercure Bibliotheque close to the Gare de Lyon. After checking into the hotel there is plenty of time to get ready and make your own way over to the Champs Elysees.

More about our Tour
On this tour you will not only experience the decisive stages of the 2025 event but you will also get the opportunity to cycle in some of France’s most beautiful areas. We stay in Provence and the French Alps.
The most important Grand Tour of the year has its 112th edition in 2025. Taking place a week later than in 2024 the Grand Depart is in Lille on Saturday 5th July. The race has its traditional finish in Paris on the Champs Elysees again after its Nice finish last year due to the Olympics.
After the 3 stages of the Grand Depart, the highlight of the first week is the Mûr de Bretagne. After a visit to the Mont Dore before the first rest day, mountain top finishes in the Pyrenees at Peyragudes and Hautacam feature before a visit to Mont Ventoux after the final rest day. A couple of big Alpine Mountain stages will fire up the final week.

Jean Christophe Bataillie
About Jean Christophe
Having loved skiing and cycling since childhood, Jean Christophe has always enjoyed maintaining his sports equipment.
After 10 years experience as a cycle technician, he took the cycle qualification CQP at the CNPC.
When not working for Sportive breaks he is an independent mechanic for his company VELO LABO, a service company where he enjoys passing on his passion and expertise.
He says “I love being able to pass on my knowledge to help you make better use of your equipment, and to help you progress by discovering how to look after your bike.”
Sarah Wilson
About Sarah
Sarah moved to France from the UK in 1999 after finishing university, she was planning on only staying a few years, however, she fell in love with the French Alps and has made it her home. She has worked in both tourism and the cycle industry over this time in operations and marketing. She currently works in market research when not working for Sportive Breaks.
A keen skier, she also enjoys trail running and the occasional 10km or half marathon, hiking with friends , cycle touring family holidays and even taking on some of the nearby mountain passes on her road bike, including the mythical Alpe d’Huez.
Mike Wilson
About Mike
In the French Alps, you will be looked after by Mike and our local team of bike guides, drivers and mechanics.
Mike has a real passion for Alpine climbs and knows all the major mountain passes in the area having ridden them all many times.
Mike, first moved to France to race for a team in Brittany before settling in the Alps to satisfy his thirst for the high mountains.
He has been racing for over 25 years and recently qualified as a bike guide. Having competed in almost all the big name sportive and Gran Fondo events in the Alps including the Etape du Tour, Marmotte and the Time Megève, Mike still likes to push the limits and has had some respectable results in the Etape du Tour and even some recent podium finishes in local races. Mike is a fully qualified French bike guide and mechanic and has spent the last 20 years honing his skills and experience he is ready to share them with you during your Alpine cycling adventure.
His passion for the Tour De France is legendary and his knowledge of the race and its champions goes back to the 1980’s so he can offer great insights and anecdotes about this iconic race.
Mike’s team of mechanics includes former Pro Tour Team mechanics so you can be sure you will be in good, safe hands!
