Sportive Breaks are the official fan and amateur participant travel and experiences provider of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow and Scotland.
These Championships, featuring 13 World Championships across 7 disciplines including Gran Fondo will be the biggest showcase of two-wheeled action that the world has seen.
The Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo will take place on Friday 4th August 2023 and the Time Trial on Monday 7th August.

We will not offer airport transfers today. Please make your own arrangements to arrive at your chosen hotel. If you decide to arrive today, please arrive in plenty of time to check into your hotel, prepare your bike and register/ sign on for tomorrow’s event at the event village.

All our hotels are in Perth, so you are close to the location of the event registrations, the start, the finish, the podium ceremonies, and the after-party. What about my bike?
We are operating a centrally located bike store with continuous service from our team of bike mechanics. The bike store is within easy cycling distance of most hotels and close to all important venues in Perth. Bikes can be safely stored either at the hotel or at our bike store. Please check each hotel’s description for the details of where your bike will be stored.
Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your own bike after travel.
Evening meals will be available at your hotel if you have booked a hotel that includes this. Alternatively Perth has many restaurants to enjoy.

- 09.00 – 15.00 – Technical briefing for Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo – Headquarters in Perth at Perth Concert all.
Today is the day!
Getting to the start
For some of you, your bike will be stored at our event hub in Perth which is located within easy walking distance of your hotel and the start and finish. Please come and collect your bike in plenty of time.
For those of you who have your bikes stored at your hotels, it’s just a short roll out from each of our hotels to the start line. Please make your own way to the start this morning, based on your own start time. Our staff will be on hand this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need directions to the start line.

- 10.00 – 16.30 Gran Fondo
- 10.30 – Medio Fondo races
- 11.45 – Start of the public 100m mile Sportive
- 14.15 – Start of the short distance Sportive
- 17.00 – 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships Podium ceremonies – Perth
After breakfast, please check out of the hotel and depart.
More About the Event
The 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships will take place in Glasgow and Scotland. the venues for the two events will be confirmed at a later date. The event brings together qualifying cyclists from all over the world. The winner in each age group will have the honour of wearing the coveted rainbow jersey for a year as official UCI Gran Fondo world champion.Launched in 2011, the UCI Gran Fondo World Series (formerly known as the UCI World Cycling Tour) is a series of UCI-sanctioned road races held all over the world. Throughout the 2022-2023 season, a series of events will qualify the top 25% in each age group for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. The age group winners of the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships are awarded the UCI rainbow jersey. The qualifier events are open to riders of all levels: those who aim to make the podium and others who wish to cross the finish line in the best possible time.
