Mallorca Coaching Camp By Sportive Breaks

Looking to set some big goals for the year and then blast through them? The Sportive Breaks Mallorca Coaching Camp is more than just some spring miles in a nice place. We start by setting you up with our expert coach. You will have an hour's phone consultation and then a custom training plan set up with regular check ins. The week in Mallorca is a big part of your training but we will be with you all the way through to your main event.
During this week Jon will run through all the key elements to improving your fitness, rider skills and intelligence to get you to achieve everything you can in 2018. This will include pedal stroke technique, controlling heart rate on climbs, stretching and core work, nutrition advice and more. Joining us at the start will be the sport science experts from Precision Hydration. They will provide an advanced sweat test (worth £95) and then create a personalised hydration plan based on how much sodium you lose on a ride and advice on what to drink & when for your main event of the year.

In Partnership With

Who's It For?

If you just want to ride in Mallorca, check out our other packages which will be better suited. The camp is for people looking to improve their cycling, set new pb's and push themselves in 2018. We will ride as two groups on the road with a faster group that will average 30km/h and an intermediate group averaging 25km/h.
You will get a custom coaching plan from the moment you sign up to your main event of the year so to get the most out of this you should be able to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week (mix of turbo sessions, rides and gym work).

Itinerary

Day 1 | Sunday

Arrival Day -

Arrive in Palma and jump on our one hour transfer to the hotel. Get your bike set up or collect your bike rental. Time for a leisurely warm up spin before an introduction dinner where Jon will run through the plan for the week.

Day 2 | Monday

Intro Ride - 67km

A Plain route without difficulties near to Pollença and Alcudia bays. The typical farmer landscape could be seen taking this route as goes along Sa Pobla, Muro and Llubí. In the afternoon, Precision Hydration will do your advanced sweat tests and personalised hydration plans.

Day 3 | Tuesday

Sa Calobra - 130km

A tough day with over 2,500m of elevation taking in the classic climb of Sa Calobra. This is a 9.5km ascent averaging 7% which is similar to something you might expect in the Alps or Dolomites. Jon will spend time going through controlling heart rate and climbing techniques.

Day 4 | Wednesday

Into the Centre of Mallorca - 99km

The Pla Region of Mallorca conceals unknown roads with a view of the countryside beyond our eye. The route reaches Lloret deVistalegre on the centre of Mallorca and it continues with the ascention of Bonany Hermitage. The route finishes going back to Pollença Bay. The route is rolling on quiet roads with one major climb of Puig Randa. Jon will focus today on pedal stroke and riding in a group.

Day 5 | Thursday

The Queen Stage - 116km

This is it, the best route in Mallorca and one of the best rides in Europe. From Andratx all the way along the coast back to Port de Pollensa. With almost 3,000m climbing, this is a great test of your endurance and Jon will be working with you individually about how to ride in these conditions.

Day 6 | Friday

To Arta & Back - 98km

Exploring the South East of the island with a mix of flat routes, some side or head winds and a couple of short, sharp climbs. Jon will be coaching how to ride in a group - a critical skill to manage your energy during a big race / sportive.

Day 7 | Saturday

Soller Loop - 133km

One last big day in the hills. The route is a Mallorcan classic including the long climb up to Puig Major. Jon will focus on nutrition and hydration in the morning and during this ride as a practice run for your big event in 2018.

Meet the Coach

"Bringing you a world class training program no matter what your level or what your goal"

I have been working as an endurance coach now for over 12 years, having worked through UK athletic Qualifications, Cycling and British Triathlon, I have a Degree in Sport Science and am working on MSc in Athlete Develeopment and Peak performance. I set up E3coach.com to give the most professional and quality driven service, understanding each athlete is an individual and no matter what your level, be it to compete or complete you deserve the same focus.

As an endurance athlete I have raced multiple Ironman, 70.3, MTB XC, Craft Transalp, Gore-tex Transalpine, Lanzarote stage MTB, Marmotte, X-Man Triathlon, Ultra marathons. As well as the racing I have pushed myself in some extreme enviroments, Mont Blanc, Everest base camp, surfing in Europe and kayaking in some great white water. It is important to me to keep pushing my own limits as this keeps me intouch with the emotions of an athlete which is key to my coaching.

The Sweat Experts

We offer a personalised hydration plan and a mix of products that meet your individual needs with our Advanced Sweat Test:
No blood test. No need to bust a gut on a treadmill. No need to wait whilst your sample goes off to a lab for top secret analysis.
Our Sweat Test takes about 15 minutes and all you have to do is sit comfortably whilst we talk to you about how you train and compete. The test is simple, painless, and extremely accurate.
This gives us an accurate reading of the amount of sodium (the key electrolyte lost in sweat) you lose every time you exercise. This is actually genetically determined and changes little throughout your lifetime, so one test is enough.

We combine the reading with the context you give us during the test to create a hydration strategy just for you. We'll advise you on when, what and how much to drink before, during and after training and competitions so that you're well equipped to achieve your goals.
