The 6 ways up Ventoux is for strong cyclists and endurance riders only. We leave Bedoin at 2am in the dark (lights are essential) with our vans lighting up the road. Our coach has chosen the optimal way to complete the challenge - ride the Bedoin side, then from Sault, then Malaucene. Then Sault again, Bedoin and finally Malaucence before descending home to Bedoin. We will have two vans supporting our riders (max group size is 20) and a permanent feed station at Chalet Reynard where you can grab your personal nutrition products and get changed half way through to freshen up. To repeat, this is not a challenge for most riders but if you are looking for a once in a lifetime challenge, this is for you.
We are not going to beat around the bush. We will go for a nice spin on Saturday but this weekend is all about taking on the greatest challenge in cycling.
One of the hardest challenges in cycling, More people have been to space than completed the 6 ascents of Ventoux. Our small group ride, led by world class endurance coach Jon Fearne is your chance to tackle this monster.
Arrival day. Get to Marseille before 4.15pm for a 4.45pm transfer, arriving at the hotel for 6pm. Our mechanic is on hand to help get your bike in perfect order. Have a quick spin to make sure everything is in order before a welcome dinner at 7.30pm.
We have two days assigned for the ride and will go on whichever day the weather is best. Friday will normally be a warm up day with a short 50km spin to get the legs ready for tomorrow.
BiCingles day. Start at 2am and we will be riding for the whole day. If you have any energy left, we will celebrate in the bar are our hotel so we are never too far from your bed!
We will leave Bedoin at 12.45pm for arrival in Marseille at 2pm. Book flights that leave after 4.30pm
There are three ways up Ventoux. The hardest is probably the famous way up from Bedoin with a long section in the woods around 10%. However, the climb from Malaucene is similar and not to be underestimated. The "easy" side from Sault is a long climb but with long sections of comfortable 5% gradients. Beware the short sharp climb into Sault to get your stamp!
