Haute Route Dolomites is a tough but rewarding 5-day sportive, giving you a taste of the life of a professional cyclist in a stage race. The route takes in some of the toughest and most iconic climbs in the region, including Passo Stelvio, Passo Gavia, Monte Bondone, Passo Giau and Tre Cime de Lavaredo. The event consists of 4 multi-mountain stages & an uphill time trial.

Haute Route Dolomites

The Haute Route series looks to create the experience and challenge of riding a multi-day stage race, with events focused around the toughest and most iconic climbs in Europe.

The 2022 Haute Route Dolomites starts in Bormio, at the foot of the Passo Stelvio, and finishes in Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the shadow of the Tre Cime de Lavaredo.

The route totals 458km, with 14,850m of climbing across the 5 stages. The 3rd stage is a 20km uphill time trial to Monte Bondone.

Our support package includes mechanic service, personalised feed stops and luggage transfers between stages, allowing you to focus on the challenge.

Arrival & Registration : Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) & Bormio

Please book a flight that arrives into Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) before 11:30, in time for our 12:30 transfer. We will transfer you and your bike box/bag to our hotel in Bormio. Once in Bormio, make your way to the race village for registration & bike check. There will be a mandatory briefing this evening ahead of the start of the event tomorrow mornig.

Stage 1 : Bormio > Passo Stelvio, 84km, 3,300m+

After an early breakfast at the hotel, it's a short roll across town to the start of stage 1. Today's stage takes in Passo Umbrail before finishing on top of the Stelvio, followed by a neutralised descent back into Bormio. This evening we will have a meal together at our hotel, and brief you about tomorrow's stage.

Stage 2 : Bormio > Passo Predaia, 120km, 3,000m+

After an early breakfast at the hotel, it's another short roll across town to the start of stage 1. Stage 2 starts with the Passo Gavia & Passo Tonale in quick succession, followed by a rolling descent towards the final climb of Passo Predaia. After the finish there's a neutralised descent into Trento. We'll transfer your luggage between hotels today, so it's waiting in the next hotel when you arrive. This evening we will have a meal together at our hotel, and brief you about tomorrow's stage, and give you details of your start time.

Stage 3 : Trento > Monte Bondone ITT, 20km, 1,450m+

After breakfast at our hotel, there's time for a warm-up ride before heading to the start ramp, for the short but tough time trial up Monte Bondone. After rolling back down into Trento, the rest of the day is free to recover and to prepare for the final 2 days. This evening we will have a meal together at our hotel, and brief you about tomorrow's stage.

Stage 4 : Trento > Passo Falzarego, 139km, 3,800m+

After an early breakfast at the hotel, it's another short roll across town to the start of stage 4. Stage 4 has a rolling start, and the route is backloaded with Passo San Pellegrino closely followed by anothewr summit finish, this time on Passo Falzarego. After the finish there's a neutralised descent into Cortina d'Ampezzo. We'll transfer your luggage between hotels today, so it's waiting in the next hotel when you arrive. This evening we will have a meal together at our hotel, and brief you about tomorrow's stage.

Stage 5 : Cortina d'Ampezzo > Tre Cime di Lavaredo, 95km, 3,300m+

After an early breakfast at the hotel, it's another short roll across town to the start of stage 5. There's hardly any flat ground in today's stage, which starts almost immediately with Passo Falzarego, quickly followed by Passo Giau. Passo Cimabanche is next, as a precursor to the final ascent to Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Take some time to soak in the spectacular scenery and reflect on your achievements, before descending back into Cortina d'Ampezzo. This evening there will be a closing ceremony in Cortina.

Departure : Cortina d'Ampezzo & Venice Marco Polo (VCE)

After breakfast we will run departure transfers to Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE). Our first transfer will depart at 06:00, so please book a flight that departs after 10:00.
