The 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships with Sportive Breaks

The 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships will take place in Nice, France across the weekend of October 18th and 19th. Join our Notification List to be the first to find out when our fully supported packages are on sale.

The information on this page relates to the 2024 World Championships, and is provided as a guide to how our 2025 packages may look.

The 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships took place in Leuven, Belgium on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6, 2024. You can qualify and try to win the rainbow jersey in your age group by qualifying in the top 25% at any event in the UCI Gravel World Series.

The UCI Gravel World series is a series of qualifier events in different countries that allows amateur cyclists to qualify for the World Championship by finishing in the top 25% in their age category. The UCI Gravel World Championships first took place in 2022 with a stellar field of pro cyclists sharing the start line with amateur riders. The women elite raced on Saturday, October 5, 2024 while the men elite had their race on Sunday, October 6, 2024. All races started in Halle with the finish in Leuven.

Amateur and masters riders race together with the pros. They start in later waves as they battle it out for a world title in their respective age groups. Women age groups and men over 50 race on Saturday while men of the age groups 19 to 49 start behind the men elite on Sunday.

Sportive Breaks and the UCI Gravel World Championships

Sportive Breaks were the official travel partner for the 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Perth, Scotland. Our 2024 host was experienced race director Rowland Summerlin. Rowland was the race director for the 2023 UCI Gran Fondo Worlds in Perth and hosted Team Australia for a private race briefing. He is currently the race director for UCI Gravel World Series event the Gralloch and experienced as ‘Chef de Mission’ for Team GB age group world championships. Rowland will again fulfil this role for Sportive Breaks in Aalborg, Cyprus and also in Leuven for the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships. In Leuven, Rowland was on hand to answer all questions you may have had on the world championships.

Packages and Prices (2024 Event)

Join us in Leuven for the 2024 Gravel World Championships. We will have mechanics and support staff to assist you during your trip along with our Chef du Mission Rowland Summerlin. Stay for three of four nights at our hotel which is located in the center of Leuven.

Prices for 3 Nights are:

  • $686 per person based on two people sharing a twin (2 single beds)
  • $911 based on a single occupancy of a room.

Prices for 4 Nights are:

  • $806 per person based on two people sharing a twin (2 single beds)
  • $1130 based on a single occupancy of a room.

Itinerary (2024 Event)

Day To Day

Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel in Leuven today or book our optional airport transfers. We provide a regular service from Brussels Airport. We will welcome you at the airport and your coach will be waiting outside the terminal. We will also transport your bike in its box or bag.

Our hotel

The hotel is a 3* hotel in Leuven near the finish. Your stay includes breakfast. The hotel has secure bike storage and free Wi-Fi.

What about my bike?

You can bring your own bike as bikes can be safely stored at the hotel. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your own bike after travel.

Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel today. Please ensure that you arrive in time to check-in, prepare your bike plus collect your race pack and register for the event.

Guided Ride (for those who arrived yesterday)

After breakfast and any final bike adjustments, we will take you on a supported, guided ride exploring the course.

After the ride, please make your way to the event expo to collect your race pack and attend the technical briefing for tomorrow’s event.

Event Registration

You must register for the event and collect your race pack in person. The registration venue is near the start line in Halle, in the Cultural Center Vondel.

Registration is possible today from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

There is a regular direct train from outside our hotel to Halle.

Registration will also be possible tomorrow morning, but we advise you to register today to avoid having to rush.

Today is the day! Breakfast is arranged in the hotel restaurant.

Getting to the start

As we are staying in Leuven, we offer transport to the start in Halle. Our team will be available this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need any other assistance.

Getting back from the finish

The finish is in Leuven so near the hotel. It is possible to ride back after you finish but our team will be present at the finish should anyone require any assistance.

Start times in Halle – 12:00 PM onwards

Podium ceremonies at the finish

These will take place between 2:30 – 5:30 PM in Leuven, just a few hundred yards from our hotel.

Registration for Sunday’s race

For men up to 49 years old racing tomorrow, registration is near the start line in Halle, in the Cultural Center Vondel.

Registration is possible today from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

There is a regular direct train from outside our hotel to Halle.

Today is the day! We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurant. Registration is possible this morning in Halle from 8:00 – 10:00 AM, but we strongly advise riders to register on Saturday.

Getting to the start

As we are staying in Leuven we offer transport to Halle. Our team will be available this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need any other assistance.

Getting back from the finish

The finish is in Leuven so ride back to your hotel. It is possible to ride back after you finish but our team will be present at the finish should anyone require any assistance.

Podium ceremonies

These will take place between 2:30 – 5:30 PM in Leuven, just a few hundred yards from our hotel.

After breakfast, please check out of the hotel and depart. Our airport transfers to Brussels Airport depart after breakfast.

More About the Event

2023 UCI Gravel World Championships

In 2023 the event was held in Italy. In the Women Elite category on Saturday, Kasia Niewiadoma took the rainbow jersey with an epic solo attack 20KM from the finish.

In the Men’s Elite Race on Sunday 8 October, the big names from other cycling disciplines like Wout Van Aert, Matej Mohoric, Cameron Mason and Florian Vermeersch were all there to battle for the finish line. In the end, Slovenian rider Matej Mohoric took the win.

Each UCI Gravel World Series event of the 2023-2024 seasons grants qualification rights for the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships. Events Calendar available here. Based on the results of each race, the first 25% of athletes in each age group will be qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships. The 25% is calculated based on the number of starters in each age group, and not on the number of riders having finished the race. In addition, the first three riders of each official age category will qualify directly for the UCI Gravel World Championships, independently of the number of starters in that age group.
