The 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships in Zuid-Limburg with Sportive Breaks

The 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships will take place on 11 and 12 October 2025 in the Netherlands, starting in Beek and finishing in Maastricht. Maastricht is the capital of the Zuid-Limburg province of the Netherlands and is well-known for also being the location of the Amstel Gold Race, the only UCI World Tour event in the Netherlands.
The women’s elite race is on Saturday 11 October 2025 while the men’s elite race is on Sunday 12 October 2025. Amateur and masters’ riders can race together with the pros. They start in later waves as they battle it out for a world title in their respective age groups. Women age groups and men over 50 race on Saturday while men of the age groups 19 to 49 start behind the men elite on Sunday.
You can qualify and try to win the rainbow jersey in your age group by qualifying in the top 25% in Scotland or any event in the 2025 UCI Gravel World Series. All 2025 qualifier events can be found here https://ucigravelworldseries.com/en/calendar/Â

Itinerary
Day To Day
Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel today. We are staying at hotel Crowne Plaza in the centre of Maastricht on a B&B basis.
Airport Transfer from BRU (Brussels International)
We will provide one group transfer from Brussels Airport today which departs the airport at 12.00. We will welcome you at the airport and the transport vehicle will be waiting outside the terminal. We will also transport your bike in its box or bag.
Our hotel
The hotel is hotel Crowne Plaza Maastricht. Your stay includes breakfast. The hotel has secure bike storage and free Wi-Fi.
What about my bike?
Your bike can be safely stored at the hotel. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your own bike after travel.
Bike Rental
Ideal for those travelling from further afield who don’t want to risk travelling with their own bike we offer a bike rental service. The bike will be delivered and fitted by our mechanic today.Â
Welcome Meeting
Our Chef de Mission will invite you to a casual get together this evening so you can meet your fellow competitors and learn about the weekend ahead.
Guided RideÂ
After breakfast and any final bike adjustments, we will take you on a supported, guided ride exploring the course.
After the ride, please make your way to the event expo to collect your race pack and attend the technical briefing for tomorrow’s event.

Registration will also be available on the morning of your race, but we advise you to register today to avoid having to rush.Â

Today is the day! We have an early start this morning. Breakfast is provided in the hotel restaurant.
Getting to the start
As we are staying in Maastricht, we will provide transport to the start of the race in Beek. Details will be confirmed once the route has been announced. Our team will be available this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need any other assistance.
Getting back from the finish
The finish is in Maastricht, so it’s only a couple of kms ride back after you finish, but our team will be present at the finish should anyone require any assistance.

Podium ceremonies at the finish
These will take place between 15:00 – 17:30 in TBC.
Registration for Sunday’s race
For men up to 49 years old racing tomorrow, registration is near the start line in TBC
Registration is possible today from 08:00 to 16:00 (TBC).
This evening we will have a post race gathering at the hotel plus we can assist with re-packing bikes if you’re not riding tomorrow.
Today is the day! We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurant. Registration is possible this morning in TBC from 8:00 – 10:00 AM, but we strongly advise riders to register on Saturday (TBC).

Our team will be available this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need any other assistance. Transport will be provided to the start in Beek.
Getting back from the finish
It is easy to ride back after you finish. Our team will be present at the finish should anyone require any assistance.

This evening we will have a post race gathering at the hotel plus we will assist with re-packing bikes pre-travel.
After breakfast, please check out of the hotel and depart. Our airport transfers to Brussels Airport departs after breakfast at 09.00. The transfer takes up tom 90 minutes so please book flights that depart after 12.30 to make use of this transfer.
More About the Event
Join the Sportive Breaks team and stay with us in Leuven for 3 or 4 nights at our Team Hotel. Your package includes all support and a guided warm-up ride from our team in the run up to your event. Airport transfers are also available.
2023 UCI Gravel World Championships
In 2023 the event was held in Italy. In the Women Elite category on Saturday, Kasia Niewiadoma took the rainbow jersey with an epic solo attack 20KM from the finish.
In the Men’s Elite Race on Sunday 8 October, the big names from other cycling disciplines like Wout Van Aert, Matej Mohoric, Cameron Mason and Florian Vermeersch were all there to battle for the finish line. In the end, Slovenian rider Matej Mohoric took the win.
Each UCI Gravel World Series event of the 2023-2024 seasons grants qualification rights for the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships. Events Calendar available here. Based on the results of each race, the first 25% of athletes in each age group will be qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships. The 25% is calculated based on the number of starters in each age group, and not on the number of riders having finished the race. In addition, the first three riders of each official age category will qualify directly for the UCI Gravel World Championships, independently of the number of starters in that age group. About the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships
Originally planned for Nice, the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships will now take place on October 11–12, 2025, in Zuid-Limburg, including Maastricht and the surrounding towns of Beek and Beekdaelen. Organised by Golazo, the event promises challenging courses, incredible scenery, and unforgettable racing.
Expect a full weekend of action — from elite men’s and women’s races to vibrant fan zones and local festivities. Whether you’re coming to race, ride the route, or just soak in the atmosphere, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
Getting to Maastricht
Maastricht is well-connected and easy to reach from across Europe:
By Air:
The closest airport is Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST), just 15 minutes from the city centre. For more international routes, Brussels (BRU), Eindhoven (EIN), and DĂ¼sseldorf (DUS) airports are all within a 1–1.5 hour drive.
By Train:
Maastricht is easily accessible by rail, with direct connections from major Dutch cities like Amsterdam and Utrecht. From Brussels, Liège, or Aachen, regular services make travel seamless from Belgium and Germany.
By Car:
Maastricht sits close to the borders of Belgium and Germany, making it a convenient drive from much of Western Europe. Expect scenic roads and good motorway access.
