Liège-Bastogne-Liège is the 4th Monument of the season. As it has been around for so long, it’s also called ‘La Doyenne des Classiques’ (the old lady of the classics). LBL marks the end of the Ardennes Classics period usually as Amstel Gold, Fleche Wallonne and LBL follow on from each other in a week. It also spells the end of the Spring Classics season as the next stop is the Giro d’Italia for many of the riders.

The professionals ride on Sunday and on Saturday it’s the turn of amateur riders to ride their LBL Challenge.

More About the Event

The Liege Bastogne Liege Sportive on Saturday 26 April is the hardest sportive of the spring classics. The full route of the Liege Bastogne Liege Sportive is a full 258km and a massive 4,400 metres of climbing – more than Stelvio Santini or the Etape du Tour! The following day on Sunday 27 April, the Pros tackle the 2025 Liege Bastogne Liege thus making this a great weekend to explore a rarely visited part of Belgium.

We offer a hotel for 3 nights in Liege so it’s easy to get to both the start and the finish of the Sportive as well as to watch the Pro race the next day. We offer transport to get to the start and back from the finish of the Sportive. For amateur riders, the ultimate challenge is to cover the entire distance of Liège-Bastogne-Liège like the pros the following day. Famous hills such as the Côte de Saint-Roch (the wall of Houffalize), Côte de Wanne, Côte de Stockeu will make an impression on the longest distance of the Liège-Bastogne-Liège Challenge.

Shorter distances of 147k and 70 km are also available with all Sportive distances starting and finishing near Liege.

Please note that the start and the finish of the LBL Challenge are no longer in the centre of Liege. The new start and finish location is in Banneux, rue de l’esplanade (4141 Banneux, Sprimont)
