More about the event

The Grand Depart of the 111th edition of the world-famous Tour de France is set to make history! It will be the first time riders start the Tour on Italian roads! Florence will host the team presentation and the first stage, sending riders off on an excruciating route of 127 miles and a whopping 12,140 ft of climbing! A challenging and exciting way to begin the Tour!

Vincenzo Nibali, recently retired in 2022 after a spectacular career, was the last Italian to win the Tour de France back in 2014. While this race cannot be won in Italy, it certainly can be lost here!  Witness this epic start to the battle for Yellow.
