April is when the cycling world properly awakens from its winter slumber. Races take place daily across Northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands, but two giant events stand out above all others; The Tour of Flanders and Paris Roubaix.

Amateur cycling events take place the day before each of the pro-rides and cycling enthusiasts from around the world come to test themselves on those roads made famous by the elite riders.  Each Sportive offers a variety of distance challenges to chose from.

Spend 12 days with us in Flanders and Roubaix on the ultimate spring classics cycling tour. Our team of local riders and mechanics will guide you around their favorite roads for an unforgettable experience. Cyclists and supporters will be well-looked after and there is plenty to do for those who don’t ride a bike but are fans of this great sport.

Spread your payments: Our payment plan is an interest-free payment method where you will have the opportunity to spread payment for your booking.

Ride two Gran Fondos: Start with ‘We Ride Flanders’ and finish with the Paris Roubaix Challenge. Distance options are available for both and transportation is included where necessary. Guided rides included throughout your trip.

Watch 3 Spring Classics: Watch two of the Monuments of Cycling; Tour of Flanders and Paris Roubaix. A mid-week visit to Antwerp for the Scheldeprijs makes three.

Fully supported tour: Our team of local hosts, drivers and mechanics look after you with all in-resort transport and support on guided rides.  Bike rental is available at additional cost.

Cycling related activities: Finish hospitality for the Tour of Flanders is included as is Velodrome center access on Paris Roubaix day. Activities include visits to a brewery, the Tour of Flanders museum, the Roubaix velodrome and its iconic showers, and rest stops in Antwerp and Ypres.

Itinerary

Airport Transfers are available from Brussels Airport (BRU). The drive to Oudenaarde takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. Our group transfer leaves Brussels Airport at 11:00 AM for any flights landing before 10:00 AM. If you plan to arrive later, please email us for a private transfer quote.
Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to give you your rental bike or to assist you with building your own bike after travel. Bikes are stored at the hotel. Once everybody has arrived, our guides will bring everyone together and talk you through the tour itinerary.

This evening you are free to eat at your leisure in Oudenaarde.

After breakfast, join us on our guided warm-up ride of about 30 miles. We will aim to ride some of the local cobbled climbs, depending on local road closures. The Oude Kwaremont, Paterberg and Koppenberg are all a short ride away. It is important to get your first taste of the cobbles ahead of the Sportive tomorrow.

After lunch we will visit the We Ride Flanders Expo and shop for race merchandise. This evening is free for you to relax ahead of your ride tomorrow morning.

We have an early start this morning and have arranged for you to be well nourished with an early breakfast in your hotel. Transportation to Bruges is provided this morning for anybody riding the 150 mile distance. All other distances start and finish just over a mile from our hotel.

Start Times & Locations (TBC, based on 2024 times)

80 miles: 8:30 – 10:00 AM
45 miles: 10:00 – 11:00 AM

All distances finish in Oudenaarde where you can celebrate your accomplishment in Belgian style. The last aid station closes at 7:00 PM. If you arrive here after this cut-off time, you will be directed to take the shortest route back to the finish as the route is officially closed at 8:00 PM. Upon finishing your ride and celebrating in Oudenaarde, it’s an easy ride back to our hotel.

The evening is free for you to eat out in one of Oudenaarde’s many restaurants.

It’s a leisurely start this morning, as we’re already in the heart of the action in Oudenaarde. While the Men’s race starts this morning in Bruges, the Women’s race starts in Oudenaarde, just round the corner from our hotel. As well as seeing the team presentation in the Market Square, the men’s race usually speeds past shortly before the women’s race starts. After soaking up the atmosphere in Oudenaarde, it’s a short walk to the edge of the town, where we will enjoy the rest of the day’s racing in comfort from the VIP Hospitality area. Thousands of fans crowd the roadside eagerly looking forward to the finish in Oudenaarde, and you will experience it from the front row with Flanders Classics Club Hospitality. Tour of Flanders Finish Hospitality – Flanders Classics Club The “Flanders Classics Club” is a stylish VIP area at the finish line in Oudenaarde, and the perfect place to witness the finale of one of the world’s greatest races, boasting a front row view. Get ready for a day you’ll never forget, surrounded by luxury and all the amenities you would expect.
    • Reception with drinks and appetizers
    • Non-stop buffet and open bar
    • Lavish indoor reception
    • Access to the VIP zone along the finish line in Oudenaarde
    • View of the finish of the Elite Men’s and Women’s races
    • Live TV race coverage
After the race, it’s a short walk back to our hotel, where it’s not uncommon to find a team bus using the car park! The rest of the evening is free, so you can join the post-race festivities in the Market Square, or relax in the hotel bar and discuss the race.

We will take it down and notch this morning and offer an optional guided ride (30–45 miles).

Enjoy the afternoon with an audio guided tour of the Centrum Ronde van Vlaanderen Museum. The interactive museum details the history of the race dating all the way back to 1913, and houses some of the bikes that have been ridden to victory. And of course, there’s a gift shop, the ideal place to pick up some souvenirs.

Today we relax. A guided ride is offered in the morning and in the afternoon we visit a local Belgian brewery with tasting.

The Scheldeprijs is known as the unofficial World Championship for sprinters. After visiting the port city of Antwerp, we’ll travel the short distance to Schoten to watch the sprint finish.

This is our final night in Oudenaarde, but bikes don’t need to be packed away, as we will be riding tomorrow.

Today we visit Flanders Fields, starting in Ypres by the Menin Gate before a bike tour that will include historical sites and war memorials. We will also see some of the Gent-Wevelgem race route before moving to our next hotel in Roubaix. All evening meals are included at our hotel in Roubaix.

This morning you will have the chance to explore Roubaix and your new surrounding.

At 2:00 PM our guided ride over the cobbles will allow you to test your bike and your skills. Our guide will share their tips for your ride tomorrow.

As the elite women tackle Paris Roubaix, you will ride your own “Hell of the North”, challenged by the cobbled sections of “Carrefour de l’Arbre” and the “Trouée d’Arenberg” and finishing, with bragging rights, at the Roubaix velodrome. Dinner tonight is at the hotel.

The transfer to the start of the 105 mile ride leaves our hotel in Roubaix at around 5:00 AM. The journey to the start in Busigny is approximately 90 minutes.

The 45 and 90 mile routes both start at the Roubaix velodrome this morning.

Once you’ve crossed the finish line in the famous velodrome, it’s time to watch the women’s race approaching on the giant screens, before seeing the finish live from the velodrome.

This evening we will have our evening meal together in the hotel.

Today is Paris Roubaix men’s day, and there are two options.

If you’ve fully recovered, we offer a guided ride this morning to watch some live action on the cobbles, including the potentially decisive Carrefour de l’Arbre. We’ll watch the finish of the race on the giant screen before riding back to our hotel.

Alternatively, you can stay in Roubaix and take your place on the lawn at the center of the velodrome. Tickets to the velodrome to see the finish are included.

Dinner at the hotel this evening. We will assist you with re-packing your bikes for travel tomorrow.

After breakfast, a transfer to Brussels International Airport (BRU) is available at 9:00 AM, for flights that depart after 1:00 PM.

If you require a private transfer at another time, please email us for a quote.

More About the Event

The first Sunday of April is reserved for The Tour of Flanders and is Belgium’s biggest sporting event, boasting enormous television audiences and thronged roadsides. A week later, the “Queen of the Classics”, Paris Roubaix, adds it’s cobbles to the Monuments. Described as the world’s most famous one-day race, the “Hell of the North” has captured the public’s imagination for 120 years. The images of gaunt faces streaked with mud span the decades with a timeless quality that belongs indisputably and uniquely to Roubaix.
