Mallorca 312 2024 - In Review

On a beautiful, idyllic weekend in the Balearics, the 2024 Mallorca 312 took place on Saturday 27 April amidst perfect cyclist conditions. The annual cycling event takes place each year in Playa de Muro in the north of Mallorca and has developed into one of the most popular amateur cycling events in the sport over the last few years.

When entries were released in October 2023 the event sold out in record time. Demand was that high that on first time of asking the entry website crashed and the entry system opening was delayed by a day.

The event is an eclectic mix of an international field, with nearly as many British cyclists taking part in the event as there were Spanish cyclists; 25% and 27% respectively. Other nations that were well-represented included Germany who made up 16% of the field of 8,500 riders and Belgium and Ireland with 3 and 4% respectively.

With a start time for the 2024 Mallorca 312 of 06:30am, the 8,500 cyclists taking part were processed and ready to go within half an hour. The Mallorca 312 is unique in that participants can choose what distance they wish to ride on the day; 167km, 225km or the full distance of 312km.

As is the case every year there is a host of celebrities from the cycling world on the start line. This year Dutch super cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten wore bib number 312. Other ex-pros that also featured on the start line were Sean Kelly, Alberto Contador and Joseba Beloki.

Following valuable customer feedback from previous iterations of the event, the feed stations provided by the event were vastly improved for the 2024 edition and overall feedback for the event has been very good from those who took part. Our customers were very pleased to have our additional feed zone to access their own products and our supplies without the big crowds, with potential scope for an additional feed station to be added next year.
