Land’s End is perched on the most south-western part of England. The craggy rocks and wild sea make a good background for photos before setting off. Our ride today starts with the dramatic coastline from Land’s End to Penzance. We will pass England’s smallest city, Truro.
Highlight of today is Dartmoor National Park. We will stop to take on fuel and energy before we climb through Dartmoor National Park. Dartmoor is an attractive part of the county of Devon in South-West England with stunning landscapes and enticing views across the famous moors where the famous ponies graze. Our hotel is in TBC where we will stay overnight stay and relax before tomorrow’s ride.
Some highlights of today’s route include:
Cheddar Gorge, a picturesque limestone gorge located in the Mendip Hills, near the village of Cheddar in Somerset, England. Cheddar Gorge is known for its stunning natural beauty, with towering cliffs rising to 137 meters (449 feet) above the surrounding landscape. It’s a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors for its hiking trails, rock climbing opportunities, and the famous Cheddar Caves.
The Clifton Suspension Bridge is an iconic landmark located in Bristol, England, spanning the Avon Gorge and the River Avon.
Today is the day that we reach the halfway mark of our challenge. Not only are we halfway but you have also conquered the toughest part. From the Midlands we reach the North-West of England and the market town of Wigan. Formerly part of Lancashire, Wigan now forms part of the Greater Manchester area.
Today’s route is TBC and will be added here soon. After breakfast each day we will check out of the hotel. load luggage and after a short ride briefing by Sean we will set off for the day’s ride. We will stop frequently for breaks and the support vehicle is on hand for support during the day. We aim to finish mid-afternoon and we will check into the next hotel, freshen up, relax and enjoy the evening meal together.

The final day has finally arrived. One last pull to get you to the end. We are cycling some of ‘The Far North Way’ a cycling route between Inverness to John O’ Groats. The 200-mile Far North Way passes through some of the most remote landscapes in the UK, including the ancient peatlands of the Flow Country in the former administrative counties of Caithness and Sutherland. In addition, the route forms part of the North Sea Cycle Route – an international cycle route through eight European countries.
Ancient forests and remote moorlands rich in wildlife. This final section is the most remote of the route. Snap your picture next to the John O’Groats sign and revel in your accomplishment of completing the UK’s most iconic ride.
After the ride today, and the obligatory photograph at the signpost, we’ll transfer you back to Inverness. From here the programme is up to you – you can book to stay overnight or head straight back home via the airport or train station. Either way it’s time to unwind after a truly mammoth achievement.
We offer a night’s stay in Inverness on request – Email Us – hello@sportivebreaks.com
If you decided to stay the extra night in Inverness last night then please check out of the hotel today.
