Not to mention the fascinating culture, warming sunshine and amazing food!

Real Rider Reviews

Aaron, Sportive Breaks Rider, 2017: "I simply had the privilege of forgetting about all the process and concentrate on the event. Which is exactly what I wanted to focus my efforts on. "

  • Sip coffee at the lighthouse

End your break with a ride to Cap Formentor to enjoy coffee and cake while taking in the Mediterranean. This cycle route is now an island classic and is a must for every cycling enthusiast.

Route Overview

We ride in small groups with two routes or speed options to choose from daily. Each group will be assigned a ride leader and support van to take everyone’s individual pace into account. We plan everything, leaving you with nothing to do except focus on your ride.

Climbs at Mallorca Week

Sa Calobra

Sa Calobra is considered Mallorca’s toughest climb. It is best avoided during the hotter hours when there is heavy footfall from tourists. We recommend cycling the route either early in the morning or later in the day. Sa Calobra offers a steady 7% gradient for the majority of the climb, allowing you to find your rhythm. Did we mention that orange juice and cake is available at the top of the climb?

Ride Distance 9.5km
Elevation Gain 7%
KOM  24 mins 54 secs

Puig Major (Soller)

This is the longest climb available on the island and has so much to offer. Experience exquisite valley views while enjoying gentle gradients ranging between 5% and 7%. There is a flat section mid-way through so you can mentally prepare for the more challenging section towards the end. Enjoy winding up the mountain, cycling through a tunnel (there is lighting inside, but you may want to bring your own lights as the tunnel is also open to motorists) and coming out the other end to an explosion of stunning views on either side of the pathway.

Mallorca Week Cycling Itinerary

We offer weekly trips starting in March and running through to May. The itinerary is the same week-on-week, with a mixture of classic climbs and lesser-known local cycle routes. All of which are led by our team of local experts.

Itinerary

Day One Monday

Coffee Spin

● We meet with our mechanics at the hotel to assist with bike building and to check the fit for those who have opted to rent a bike from us.
● There is an optional ‘coffee spin’ consisting of a short 30km ride to Pollensa and back to the hotel.
● There is a welcome meal at 19:30, including an outline of the week given by our local guides.

Elevation Gain 250 m.

Day Two Tuesday

Petra or Randa

We offer two relatively flat routes to choose from. The day aims to prepare us for the week ahead as we start exploring the beauty that Mallorca offers.

● Option 1 - A shorter 70km route to Sineu and Petra.
● Option 2 - A more extended option spanning 110km travelling to Randa. The route involves one climb (Puig Randa) offering incredible views across the entire island.

Day Three Wednesday

Soller / Puig Major

Our two routes lead us into the mountainous regions of Mallorca for the first time.

● Option 1 - A longer 138km classic route offering three of Mallorca’s best climbs. Starting with the beautiful Col d’Honor. We then move on to the Col de Soller before tackling Puig Major, the longest ascent on the island.
● Option 2 - A shorter 110km ride that includes tackling the Col d’Honor.

● We head to Selva, past Lluc before reaching the top of Sa Calobra.
● We then enjoy a thrilling descent.
● There is one final, tough climb before we enjoy a relaxing descent into Port de Pollensa for lunch.
● Following lunch, we return to the hotel.

Ride Distance 113 km.
Elevation Gain 2265 m.

Day Five Friday

Hermitage

A more relaxed day today with an easygoing ride along the coast.

● We tackle an easy climb to the Hermitage before returning to the hotel via an inland route.
● A relaxed afternoon exploring the beach or relaxing beside the pool (your choice).

Elevation Gain 1091 m.

Day Six Saturday

Queen Stage: Andratx to Port d'Alcudia
