Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel today. Our team will be available to meet you at the hotel. If you plan to fly then we offer a group airport transfer for you, your luggage, and your bike (if you are bringing your own), details coming soon.

If you arrive at any other times, we also offer private airport transfers from other Milan airports at a supplement. 

Our hotel

The exact hotel is TBC and will be confirmed soon. Your stay will be for 4 nights. All meals will be provided either in the hotel or at a local restaurant.

What about my bike?

Former team bikes are available to all guests (Subject to availability) so please let us know which size you require when booking. You may bring your own bike if you prefer.

A Team Visma | Lease a Bike mechanic will be available each day of your trip to clean and service your bike giving you the full World Tour treatment.

This evening you will enjoy an evening meal with your ex-pro hosts as they talk you through your exciting itinerary for the weekend and answer any questions you have.

After breakfast together at the hotel we will set off on a guided ride supported by Team Visma | Lease a Bike. You will be riding with ex-pro’s and supported by a team vehicle with a mechanic, nutrition and any spare kit. This will give you a true World Tour team feel as you get prepared and dialled in for your Gran Fondo on Sunday.

The ride distance will be between 70-90 KM dependant on rider ability. 

After arriving back at the hotel we will have some time to get changed and eat lunch. A team soigneur will be available for massage in the afternoon. There will be a hosted group activity this afternoon too (currently TBC).

This evening we will have a group meal as we look to what tomorrows pro race will bring. This is a perfect time to ask your questions about life as a professional rider.

After breakfast at the hotel your Il Lombardia race day starts. You will spend the day as a guest of the team in an official TVL minibus equipped with route map and interior TV screens so we can watch the race live during the day.

On our way to the stage start we will visit the hotel where the team are staying. Here one of the team directors will give you the inside track on the team’s race tactics for the day. After this we make our way to the start location where we will visit the team bus and meet the riders as they prepare for the day ahead. There may even be time for a stroopwafel and a coffee. We will then visit the Start Village and the team paddock before setting off for the day.

You will spend the day with us in an official black and yellow TVL minibus equipped with food, drinks and interior TV screens so we can watch the stage live during the day*. You will drive on the course of the stage on closed roads and be a proper part of the support team. You will experience the race at various locations.

During the day we will be handing out wheels and water bottles during the race. We will also stop for a lunch break.

We head to the finish area to catch the finale of the race**. Hopefully we can join in with the team celebrations. After the race comes to a close we return to the hotel for our evening meal where the hosts will talk you through Gran Fondo day.

You were able to see how the riders of the men’s cycling elite handled the roads yesterday. Today it’s your turn. Ride the 109.5km with 1,700 metres of climbing of the Gran Fondo Lombardia. The main difficulties on the route are the Ghisallo and the Sormano.

Our hotel will do an early breakfast so you can eat in plenty of time before the start. We will travel over to the start area together, make sure you take all the Amacx nutrition that you need for the day. Use your included subscription to The Athletes Food Coach app to perfect your nutritional plan. 

You can ride the whole route with your ex-pro hosts. This is not compulsory so if you are feeling especially fast or are after a new PB then please feel free to do so.

During the day we have two private Sportive Breaks feed stations on the route where our team is ready to support you with fuel and mechanical issues.

After the Gran Fondo there is a pasta party hosted by the organisers. Once we are ready we will all travel back to the hotel. We will then have our evening meal together celebrating your achievement of tackling the Gran Fondo Lombardia.
