Classic cycling weekends. Ride the sportive on the Saturday and then watch the pros on Sunday.
These events are typically smaller than the Monuments with a more local peloton. This gives the weekend a different flavour and gives you more of a chance to delve into the local culture.
Most of these are early in the season in spring. Our first weekend is Gent Wevelgem, a popular sportive fighting the winds of Western Flanders and a couple of great cobbled climbs.
In mid April is the brilliant Amstel Gold. This event sells out immediately and is extremely popular with the Dutch. The pro race on the Sunday is the biggest cycling event of the year in Holland and the fans show their enthusiasm to the riders and race sponsor.
One of our favourite sportives of the year and an event that experienced sportive riders love to come back to every year. The event is much smaller than the Tour of Flanders and most of the peloton are locals. The route is mostly flat over exposed lowlands of Western Flanders. The route goes past many WW1 battlefields & cemeteries with some sections on the unpaved Plugstreets close to the trenches. The main climb in the race is the very steep Kemmelberg but by far the biggest challenge is the fight against headwinds.

Choose between four routes to suit all cyclists and then enjoy the great atmosphere at the pro race on Sunday.

The hardest sportive of the spring classics, the full route of Liege Bastogne Liege is a full 271km and a massive 4,400 metres of climbing - more than Stelvio Santini or the Etape du Tour! The following day is the final pro race of the spring classics making this a great weekend to explore a rarely visited part of Belgium.
