The biggest event in the sportive calendar - the UCI Granfondo World Championships sees riders from around the world attempt to qualify in one of the 15 events around the world and then represent their country at the end of season World Champs. Most competitors are casual racers or decent riders who train hard to improve. To qualify you need to finish in the top 25% in your age category - 18 to 34 and then every 5 years after that (ie 35-39).
There is a Time Trial and Road Race as part of the World Champs, all perfectly organised on completely closed roads.
The Granfondo Cyprus is a unique event in the cycling calendar - 3 days with a Time Trial & 2 Granfondos over a long weekend all with the chance to qualify for the UCI Granfondo World Champs if you finish in the top 25% of your age category.

The Tour of Cambridgeshire is a quick, relatively flat race over completely closed roads where the biggest challenge is the wind. Starting and finishing in Peterborough with a very social 12pm start, this is a great event for new and experienced races as well as those just looking for a fun ride over closed roads.
