Ride Introduction
A ride of contrasting terrain with rolling terrain to suit the rouleurs at the start of the ride followed by some challenging climbs on the long route to suit the grimpeurs as we return via the Cotswold Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Heading out east from the start at Didmarton you’ll pass through picturesque Cotswolds villages on quiet country lanes looping past the edge of Cotswold Water Park before we turn back and start to head for the hills. The 100km route returns back to the finish before reaching the bigger climbs but for riders on the 100 mile route there’s plenty of challenge towards the end of the ride including a 3km climb out of Wotton-Under-Edge followed by the shorter but steeper Stouts Hill often used for local cycling club hill climb events.
Distance | Elevation | Difficulty | |
---|---|---|---|
Long Route | 161km | 1,686m | 3/5 |
Medium Route | 101km | 732m | 1/5 |

Ride Rules
Riders should have water bottles, the route downloaded, suitable clothing & a bike in good condition. Helmets at all times are mandatory. We will email you Covid protocols before the ride depending on the laws and guidelines at the time.
We are lucky enough to ride in beautiful places. We have a zero tolerance litter policy – there will be bins at each feed stop so please leave the area as you found it. Please be respectful of local drivers, riders, walkers etc. This is their home, we are just there to ride our bikes. On the ride, look after other cyclists. On narrow lanes & busy sections, don’t ride two a breast. No half wheeling. Take extra caution on the descents – the nature of these rides are that they will be full of tough climbs and technical descents. We will run through the major hazards before the ride but it is your responsibility to ride to your level. By signing up for this ride, you need to be in suitable physical shape for the ride.
