Gran Fondo Mont Ventoux with Sportive Breaks

The Sportive Breaks Cycling Weekender is a four-night trip for avid amateur sports cyclists to iconic cycling destinations such as Alpe d’Huez, Mont Ventoux, Mallorca, Calpe, the Dolomites, the Stelvio and the French Alps.
This is the perfect long weekend for avid amateur cyclists and the same tried and tested formula can be expected in each destination. All weekenders are hosted by local riders and in Italy you can even ride with a former Giro d’Italia stage winner! Riders arrive on Wednesday and go on to enjoy 4 to 5 days in the saddle, taking in a combination of classic world-renowned cols and climbs made famous by the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana. We also introduce some undiscovered climbs favoured by local riders.

Gran Fondo Mont Ventoux

Join us in beautiful Sault in the heart of Provence’s stunning cycling country. Ventoux is the headline but the glorious riding in the quiet country lanes around it is equally memorable. On Sunday the Lapierre Mont Ventoux is taking place, choose from two distances 100km, 2600M or 122km, 3600m. Each entry includes a mandatory Santini jersey.

More About the Sportive Breaks Ventoux Weekender

Cycling in Provence In late Spring and early Autumn Provence boasts ideal cycling temperatures, with miles of quiet, tarmacked roads and some breathtakingly beautiful rolling terrain. Most travellers head here for one reason, the mighty Mont Ventoux, but also leave with incredible memories of the tranquil, local lanes and smaller climbs. Our 5-day, 4-night trip is ridden at a relaxed pace, aiming for 100km per day with around 5 hours of riding.

Once done you will have plenty of time to enjoy your evenings in this charming area, either take on the French game of boules, explore the local markets or load-up on those essential carbs at one of areas famous patisseries. Our  Ventoux & Provence cycling package includes daily guided rides including: Thursday’s ride to the stunning Luberon Valley and on Friday the ride to the amazing Gorges de la Nesque. Saturday it’s time for Mont Ventoux, with a short warm-up ride before the ascent, followed by a descent for lunch, finishing with a roll home. **Sportive Breaks also offer the option to climb all three sides of Mont Ventoux in a day. Once conquered you will join the most exclusive club in cycling, the Club des Cingles du Mont Ventoux. – This is available in the itinerary for the bespoke trips or other weekender dates. The Gran Fondo replaces this part of the itinerary for this trip.
