Alpine Tour Stages with Sportive Breaks

The most famous Grand Tour of the year has a brilliant and very challenging final week in store – join this tour and we will take you close to the best action and excitement the Tour can offer.
The small group size on this tour means that it will feel tailor-made to your needs. Our local team are based in the Alps year-round and are looking forward to showing you their home roads and offering insights into the Tour history.
We offer guided and supported rides with vehicle support and snacks, drinks and energy products by SiS included. Also available are bike rental (e-bikes are also available) and airport transfers from Geneva Airport. Transfers between different locations will be in air-conditioned, comfortable vehicles, allowing you to soak up the amazing Alpine scenery.
The option to add on our Paris extension is a must for any Tour fan – a unique chance to see the final stage on the Champs Elysees from the comfort of the VIP Team Visma Lease a Bike lounge.

Tour Dynamic
Daily Rides
We offer a guided ride each day, with our bike guides on the road with you. We also have a support vehicle with driver who is also a mechanic. We will either transport everyone to a location from where we will start the daily rides, or we will ride straight out from the hotel. We offer vehicle support for the riders, and spectators will be transported to the day’s tourist venue, or to a vantage point to watch the race.
Spectators
Riders and spectators may have a different daily itinerary and when possible will be reunited to enjoy the race watching experiences together.

The colourful rooms offer a functional layout and generous comfort with flat screen TV, wifi and air conditioning. Meals will be served at the stylish and welcoming hotel restaurant and are prepared with fresh, seasonal produce. This hotel is the perfect place to relax after a day out on the bike.
Guests can access a fitness room and a spa, including a hammam, a hot tub and a treatment room at an extra cost and upon prior reservation.

We have a group transfer leaving at 2pm from Geneva Airport. If you are arriving later, please contact us for availability of private transfers from Lyon or Geneva Airport or Chambéry Railway Station.
Our team will be available on arrival to welcome you and assist with building your bike after travel.
Hotel La Maison Rouge has a spa area you can relax in (added optional extra: pre-booking recommended).
This evening, we will enjoy the buffet evening meal together at the hotel.

Day Two - Guided Ride in the Alps

On guided cycling days our team will support you on the road with vehicle support that includes regular stops for drinks and snacks.
Details of today’s ride will follow soon but we expect to ride the section of the Tour including the beautiful Lac du Bourget today straight from the hotel (90km and 600m altitude gain) with a lunch stop in the quaint village of Chanaz where non-cyclists can join for lunch.
This evening the evening meal will be at the hotel.

Day Three - Stage 16: Evian-les-Bains to Thonon-les-Bains

We will have an early start from the hotel by coach to travel to view the time trial stage, which finishes in Thonon Les Bains (3hr transfer, traffic dependent).
You will be able to bring your bikes in our adapted bike trailer to do a ride near to Evian if you wish.
We will arrive back at the hotel just in time for the evening meal.

Day Four - Stage 17: Chambéry to Voiron

Barberaz near Chambéry
Today we will be lucky enough to be in the start town for the days stage. There will be the option to cycle or be transported the few kilometres to Chambéry centre to soak up the atmosphere and see the riders set off.
The tour then comes back though Chambéry, offering the possibility to see them come past a second time from a roadside vantage point.
For those who wish to cycle there will be a guided ride to the Col des Près to see the riders in action.
There will be time to relax in the late afternoon and evening at the hotel and pack up ready to move on on Thursday.

Day Five - Stage 18: Voiron to Orcières-Merlette

Today we will have an early start to head south before road closures.
We will head to Bourg d’Oisans where you will have the option of heading straight up to the hotel in Vaujany, or join a guided ride to cycle the 50 kilometres to intercept the stage and watch it by the road side. Make use of our transport or cycle back after we’ve seen the stage.
The evening meal will be at our new Hotel les Cimes in Vaujany

Day Six - Stage 19: Gap to Alpe d'Huez

We will have a guided ride this morning before heading down to Bourg d’Oisans for an exciting afternoon and soaking up the Tour atmosphere.
The climb to Alpe d’Huez will feature for the first time, as the pros face an ultra-dynamic route from Gap via the Col Bayard, Col du Noyer and Col d’Ornon. We will be ideally placed to watch the riders come through Bourg d’Oisans and start the famous climb with its 21 hairpins.
We will head back to Vaujany for the evening meal at the hotel.

Day Seven - Stage 20: Bourg d'Oisans to Alpe d'Huez

The Tour’s Queen Stage, which is also this years Etape du Tour de France, features a cumulative vertical gain of 5,600 metres. You will be ideally situated to see the start in Bourg d’Oisans and then take the cable car or cycle up to see the finish in Alpe d’Huez while the pros take on the Col de la Croix de Fer, the Télégraphe and Galibier. They’ll climb to Alpe d’Huez via the Col de Sarenne for a historical first time not to be missed.
We will be back in Vaujany for the evening meal.

Day Eight - Au Revoir

After breakfast it’s the end of your experience. Our tour finishes on Sunday 26 July with an optional airport transfer back to Geneva Airport.
Paris Extension
For those who would like the opportunity to experience the final stage in Paris we will transfer you to Lyon TGV where you will catch the 2-hour train to Paris. A taxi will take you to your hotel close to the Champs Elysees. Then make your way to the Grand Palais VIP lounge to enjoy an amazing Tour experience as the riders race for glory around Paris.

The Final Week in the Alps
The final week in the Alps culminates with three mountain stages. Stage 18 on Thursday sees a high-altitude Alpine finish at Orcières-Merlette near Gap. From our base in Le Bourg d’Oisans we will be in reach of the stage. Stage 19 on Friday is a 128km stage from Gap to Alpe d’Huez, using its traditional ascent. This is the first of a double ascent of Alpe d’Huez, a Tour rarity last seen in 1979. Stage 20 takes place between Le Bourg d’Oisans and Alpe d’Huez, allowing us to see the start and the finish climb. Climbs included are Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Galibier and the Col de Sarenne before the final ascent.
On Sunday we will offer you the option to go to Paris for one night and see the final stage on the Champs Elysees.
Stage 18 – Thursday July 23: Mountain Stage Voiron to Orcières-Merlette
The first of the Alpine tests, ending with a summit finish at Orcières-Merlette near Gap. A historic climb, it will set the tone for the GC battle and will start to reveal who has the legs for the final showdown.
Stage 19 – Friday July 24: Gap to Alpe d’Huez via Col d’Ornon
A short but intense stage featuring the Col d’Ornon and the iconic Alpe d’Huez. The 21 hairpin bends will be a battleground for climbers and a spectacle for fans.
Stage 20 – Saturday July 25: Queen Stage with 5,600m Elevation Gain
The most brutal stage of the race and also the stage chosen to be the 2026 Etape du Tour on Sunday 19 July. Riders face the Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and a final ascent via Col de Sarenne to Alpe d’Huez. This stage will be decisive for the general classification.
Stage 21 – Sunday July 26: Paris Finale with Montmartre Climbs
Instead of the traditional Champs-Élysées sprint, the finale features three ascents of Rue Lepic in Montmartre. The cobbled climb adds drama and flair, with the race concluding beneath the Arc de Triomphe.
2027 Final week in the Alps Tour Bike Rental
You have the option to add bike rental to your booking during the booking process. You will be allocated a Xelius DRS 8.0 Sram or Shimano, or a Madone SL6 Shimano or similar.
The bike will be delivered and collected. Rental is for the duration of your trip with us. Our bike rental terms and conditions can be found here.
