The 2025 Haute Route Alps will take place between Sunday 24th and Saturday 30th August, starting in the French village resort of Megeve and finishing in Nice. Haute Route Alps is a tough but rewarding 7-day Sportive, giving you a taste of the life of a professional cyclist in a stage race. The route takes in some of the toughest and most iconic climbs in the Alps and consists of 6 multi-mountain stages and an uphill time trial. Support at the Haute Route Alps is unparalleled and by purchasing entry you get access to a number of services. What’s more, you get the unique opportunity to truly live and compete like a pro cyclist for a week!
One of the toughest weeks in amateur cycling, the Haute Route Alps is the flagship event of the Haute Route Cycling Series. This is a week of cycling bucket list climbs made famous by the Giro d’Italia. A lot of it is spent at altitude, with several Cols over 2,000 metres above sea level.
Our 8-night package will start on Saturday 23 August and finish on Sunday 31 August.

Travel to Megeve
Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel in Megeve today. Our team will be available to meet you at the hotel. If you plan to fly then we offer an airport transfer for you, your luggage and your bike from Geneva Airport at 12:00pm.
Our hotel
Your stay will be for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis, with breakfasts included. You will have an early breakfast on the day of stage 1. You can keep your bike in your room with you.
What about my bike?
You can bring your own bike as we have made arrangements to transport bike boxes on our airport transfers. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your bike after travel.
This afternoon and early evening, our tour leaders and bike mechanics are available for you. The evening is free for you to eat in one of Megeve’s many restaurants.

We have a slightly later breakfast at the hotel today. There is no need to have your bags ready in reception as we’ll be staying another night in this hotel.
After the finish, ride back to the hotel, where you will have time to book a massage, get your bike checked by our mechanic and relax. There will be no evening meal tonight as there is a Haute Route Alps 2025 closing ceremony.
This evening you can collect your bike box and our mechanic is available to assist you with re-packing your bike into the box so you’re ready for travel tomorrow.

After breakfast we offer our optional transfer back to Nice Airport. Our airport transfer will leave our hotel at 09:30am in time for flights that depart after 12:00pm. Please keep this in mind when booking your return journey home.
The Haute Route is a premier multi-day cycling event that challenges amateur riders to take on mountainous stages inspired by professional races. Known for its difficulty and stunning locations, Haute Route offers events across iconic cycling regions like the Alps, Pyrenees & Dolomites as well as single-day and three-day events in locations like Alpe d’Huez and Ventoux.
The multi-day Haute Route events like this year’s Alps edition typically span 5–7 days and cover around 800km (500 miles), including demanding climbs that gain thousands of meters in elevation, sometimes at high altitude. Riders experience fully supported stages, with pro-level race logistics, timed climbs, mechanical assistance, and race marshals – this creates the most authentic and high-quality experience that mirrors professional stage racing. Riders stay in local accommodation and can utilise support services like luggage transfers and daily massages, which make Haute Route events unique among amateur cycling challenges.

Having loved skiing and cycling since childhood, Jean Christophe has always enjoyed maintaining his sports equipment.
After 10 years experience as a cycle technician, he took the cycle qualification CQP at the CNPC.
When not working for Sportive breaks he is an independent mechanic for his company VELO LABO, a service company where he enjoys passing on his passion and expertise.
He says “I love being able to pass on my knowledge to help you make better use of your equipment, and to help you progress by discovering how to look after your bike.”
In the French Alps, you will be looked after by Mike and our local team of bike guides, drivers and mechanics.
Mike has a real passion for Alpine climbs and knows all the major mountain passes in the area having ridden them all many times.
Mike, first moved to France to race for a team in Brittany before settling in the Alps to satisfy his thirst for the high mountains.
He has been racing for over 25 years and recently qualified as a bike guide. Having competed in almost all the big name sportive and Gran Fondo events in the Alps including the Etape du Tour, Marmotte and the Time Megève, Mike still likes to push the limits and has had some respectable results in the Etape du Tour and even some recent podium finishes in local races. Mike is a fully qualified French bike guide and mechanic and has spent the last 20 years honing his skills and experience he is ready to share them with you during your Alpine cycling adventure.
His passion for the Tour De France is legendary and his knowledge of the race and its champions goes back to the 1980’s so he can offer great insights and anecdotes about this iconic race.
Mike’s team of mechanics includes former Pro Tour Team mechanics so you can be sure you will be in good, safe hands!
