Medical certificates – France and Italy

If you would like to take part in a mass participation event in France or Italy, it is obligatory that you provide a valid medical certificate. The certificate must state that there is no issue from a health point of view for you to take part in a sports event.
A copy of the medical certificate will be accepted so you can keep the original for future use. Your medical certificate should be signed by a doctor and the certificate must be dated within a year of the event date.

Your options to get a medical certificate;

1. Print out the event’s standard document and take it to your doctor.
2. Use the Destination Sport Experiences online medical certification service.

– Option number 1; go see a doctor.
Ahead of making an appointment with your doctor, you should download and print the standard document from the event website. To save you searching we’ve listed a few below.

– France

• Etape du Tour
• Marmotte Alps Gran Fondo
• Haute Route Alps
NB: The Paris – Roubaix Challenge DOES NOT require a medical certificate.

– Italy

• Gran Fondo Strade Bianche
• Gran Fondo Milan Sanremo
• Gran Fondo Stelvio Santini
• Gran Fondo Lombardia

– Option number 2;  use the Team DSE medical certification service.

For some people it may not be that easy to make an appointment with a doctor or your doctor may charge for this. You also may not want to add an extra burden to your local healthcare service as they will prioritize people with a more urgent medical need. That’s why we’re introducing an online medical certification service. Simply fill out the online questionnaire, pay the fee and your certificate will be delivered to you electronically. You will get a generic medical certificate without specific event names on it that can be used as many times as you want within one year of it being issued.
