The 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships with Sportive Breaks
Pre-register for our 2024 tour to the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships. The dates for our tour are Friday 4th until Monday 7th October 2024. Dates TBC pending confirmation. Full details of the routes will be announced at a later date but don’t worry as you can already book your 2024 place on our trip now with Sportive Breaks. Buy your spot by paying a pre-registration fee of £100 per person. If after we release our packages you don’t like the routes or our tour, then we will give you a full refund.
The 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships will be in Leuven, Belgium on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October 2024. You can qualify and try to win the rainbow jersey in your age group by qualifying in the top 25% at the Gralloch in Scotland or any other event in the 2024 UCI Gravel World Series.
The UCI Gravel World series is a series of qualifier events in different countries that allows amateur cyclists to qualify for the World Championship by finishing in the top 25% in their age category. The UCI Gravel World Championships first took place in 2022 with a stellar field of pro cyclists sharing the start line with amateur riders. The women elite race on Saturday 5th October 2024 while the men elite have their race on Sunday 6th October 2024. All races start in Halle with finish in Leuven.
Amateur and masters’ riders can race together with the pros. They start in later waves as they battle it out for a world title in their respective age groups. Women age groups and men over 50 race on Saturday while men of the age groups 19 to 49 start behind the men elite on Sunday.

Itinerary
Day To Day
Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel in Leuven today or make use of our airport transfers. We provide a regular service from Brussels Airport. We will welcome you at the airport and your coach will be waiting outside the terminal. We will also transport your bike in its box or bag.
Our hotel
The hotel is a 4* hotel in Leuven near the finish. Your stay includes breakfast and evening meal which will be a sportive menu on the night before your ride. The hotel has secure bike storage and free Wi-Fi.
What about my bike?
You can bring your own bike as bikes can be safely stored at the hotel. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your own bike after travel.

Guided Ride (for those who arrived yesterday)
After breakfast and any final bike adjustments, we will take you on a supported, guided ride exploring the course.
After the ride, please make your way to the event expo to collect your race pack and attend the technical briefing for tomorrow’s event.

Today is the day! We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurants (if included with your chosen accommodation).
Getting to the start
As we are staying in Leuven, we offer transport to the start in Halle. Our team will be available this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need any other assistance.
Getting back from the finish
The finish is in Leuven so near the hotel. It is possible to ride back after you finish but our team will be present at the finish should anyone require any assistance.

More About the Event
Join the Sportive Breaks team and stay with us in Leuven for 3 or 4 nights at our Team Hotel. Your package includes all support and a guided warm-up ride from our team in the run up to your event. Airport transfers, bike rental and massages are also available.
2022 UCI Gravel World Championships
In 2022, 552 riders registered for the first edition, representing 38 different nationalities. In the Women Elite category on Saturday, French multi-discipline talent Pauline Ferrand Prevot took the world title and the first Gravel rainbow jersey.
In the Men’s Elite Race on Sunday 9 October, several talented cyclists from several different cycling disciplines took the start. Mathieu van der Poel was on the start line with former MTB marathon World Champion Alban Lakata and road cyclists like Peter Sagan, Greg Van Avermaet, Alexey Lutsenko, U23 world champion Yevgeniy Fedorov, Magnus Cort Nielsen, Zdenek Stybar, Davide Ballerini, Daniel Oss, Lilian Calmejane, Carlos Verona and Alessandro De Marchi. Belgian Gianni Vermeersch took the inaugural title.
Each UCI Gravel World Series event of the 2023-2024 seasons grants qualification rights for the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships. Events Calendar available here. Based on the results of each race, the first 25% of athletes in each age group will be qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships. The 25% is calculated based on the number of starters in each age group, and not on the number of riders having finished the race. In addition, the first three riders of each official age category will qualify directly for the UCI Gravel World Championships, independently of the number of starters in that age group.
