Cycle Girona with Sportive Breaks

Girona was first made popular as a cycling destination when almost every rider from US Postal Service Cycling Team, including Lance Armstrong, moved there in the late 90’s and early 00’s to avoid the reaches of the French Authorities. While the team was motivated to live there for more dubious reasons, this beautiful area of North-East Spain, is an undeniably an  amazing place to ride a bike.

Many pro riders still choose this city because of it’s smooth and quiet roads surrounded this medieval City there are lots of options for hilly rides. Plus famous climbs like Rocacorba and Armstrong’s favourite Els Angels are a must.

Being relatively close to the Pyrenean Mountain range, it’s possible to ride year-round. However, with most of the cooler temperatures and rainfall between November to February, most trips will avoid those months.
