We offer a guided ride each day, with our bike guides on the road with you. We also have a support vehicle with driver who is equipped as a mechanic. We will either transport everyone to a location from where we will start the daily rides, or we will ride straight out from the hotel. We offer vehicle support for the riders, and spectators will be transported to the day’s tourist venue or to a vantage point to watch the race.

Transportation

On days where we move on to another hotel, we will transport luggage, bike boxes and bikes and offer an adapted itinerary depending on the day’s logistics.

Spectators

Riders and spectators may have a different itinerary daily but are reunited to enjoy the race watching experiences together. We attempt to keep hotel changes and transfers to a minimum.

Who are our tours for?

Cyclists and Spectators

Our tour is suitable for both cyclists of any level and non-cycling spectators. The hotels we stay at are in excellent locations providing world-renowned French cuisine. Our daily guided rides give cyclists the opportunity to ride some of the most beautiful climbs that feature on the race route. We stay in beautiful locations, as well as providing plenty of opportunity for spectators to enjoy time away from the cycling with scheduled visits to local towns and villages.

2026 Cycling and Spectator Tours to the Grand Tours with Sportive Breaks

On a cycling and spectator tour with Sportive Breaks you will not only experience the decisive stages of the 2026 event but you will also get the opportunity to cycle in some of France’s most beautiful areas – the Pyrenees, Provence and the French Alps. The most important Grand Tour of the year has its 113th edition in 2026.

The 2026 edition of the world’s most prestigious cycling race is set to commence in Barcelona, Spain, marking the city’s first time hosting the Grand Départ. This event will also be the third time the race starts in Spain, following previous starts in San Sebastián (1992) and Bilbao (2023).

Confirmed Stages (as of May 2025)

  • Stage 1 – Saturday, July 4, 2026: Barcelona > Barcelona (19.7 km, Team Time Trial)

The race kicks off with a 19.7 km team time trial, beginning at the Fórum and tracing the city’s coastline. The route passes iconic landmarks like the Sagrada Família before culminating in a challenging ascent to the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium. Notably, this stage introduces a new timing format: while team times are recorded based on the first rider to finish, individual times will also be logged for general classification purposes.

  • Stage 2 – Sunday, July 5, 2026: Tarragona > Barcelona (178.4 km)

Starting in the historic city of Tarragona, this 178.4 km stage follows the scenic Mediterranean coastline, passing through towns like Sitges. The latter part of the route becomes more demanding, featuring climbs through the Ordal and Collserola ranges. The stage concludes with a circuit in Barcelona, including three ascents of Montjuïc, each featuring steep gradients up to 13%.

  • Stage 3 – Monday, July 6, 2026: Granollers > (Destination TBA)

The third stage commences in Granollers, a town known for its sporting heritage. While the exact finish location remains unconfirmed, it’s anticipated that the route will lead northward, possibly crossing into France via the Pyrenees.

Additional 2026 Route Insights

While the full route details beyond the initial stages are yet to be announced, reports suggest that the race will traverse various terrains across France. Anticipated highlights include:

  • Mountain Stages: Challenging ascents in the Alps and Pyrenees, featuring renowned climbs such as Alpe d’Huez, Col du Galibier, Col d’Aubisque, and Col de Peyresourde
  • Time Trials: Two individual time trials are expected—one through the rolling vineyards of Burgundy and another along the Seine River, demanding both precision and power from the riders
  • Final Stage: A ceremonial finish in Paris, culminating with a sprint on the iconic Champs-Élysées

The complete route is anticipated to be officially unveiled in October 2025. For the most up-to-date information, you can visit the official race website: letour.fr.
