Conquer the Stelvio with Sportive Breaks

Enjoy the spa town of Bormio with rides covering both sides of the Stelvio, the mighty Mortirolo and the stunning Gavia. This minimum 4-night trip is ridden at a pace your group can dictate, for instance company and croissants can be prioritised over KOM hunting or vice versa! On the road you will be looked after by Giro d’Italia stage winner Andrea Ferrigato and his team of local riders.

Day One - Arrival & Warm Up Ride

If you are driving or are using public transport, please make your own way to meet us at the hotel. Alternatively, if you arrive at Milan Malpensa Airport and require an airport transfer, then we will arrange this around your flight schedule.

This afternoon, there will be an optional ride to warm-up the legs and bed-in your own bike or rental.

Airport Transfers

Included with your Stelvio Cycling Tour, we can offer an airport transfer for you, your luggage, and your bike from Milan Malpensa airport. If you wish to use this service, then you must provide us with your flight details ahead of time

The transfer will be arranged to pick you up 1 hour after your flight has arrived, leaving you enough time to clear airport security and baggage.

Day Two - Stelvio

The Queen Stage. We start at 9am (depending on weather and time of year) and immediately begin the climb up to the Stelvio from Bormio. We will climb from Bormio, before descending down the iconic Prato side before stopping for lunch. We will then climb the other side and descend back to the hotel.

We will have regular feed stops. We can offer quotes for multiple guides to cover multiple groups on the road, this can allow for multiple supported groups if you require it. After the ride we will grab a beer on the terrace before dinner.

Day Three - Mortirolo

Another 9am roll out to start the day, we will descend down to the valley of Grosio where you have a choice when climbing the mighty Mortirolo. The first side from Grosio is 14km at 8%, or you can continue to Mazzo for the more famous side which is 12km at 11%. We will regroup at the top and descend to Grosio and Bormio.

Day Four - Gavia and Cancano

Finish at the top of the Stelvio, where the Stelvio cycling Weekenders are based

We will start at 9am again and ride to the Gavia from Bormio which is around 25km. We can then ride Cancano if you still have enough energy after a tough couple of days!

Our transfer home is at 10am so you’ll get a well-earned lie in, late breakfast and the opportunity for some last minute souvenirs before heading home.

Returning Home – Departure from your hotel

Airport transfers will be arranged around your flight schedule and we will take into account the distance to the airport and the 2 hour check-in requirement, therefore your transfer will be ready to pick-up you up roughly 5.5 hours before your flight departs.

This is the perfect Cycling Break for avid amateur cyclists and the same tried and tested formula can be expected in each destination. All Cycling Tours are hosted by local riders and in Italy you can even ride with a former Giro d’Italia stage winner! Riders arrive on their desired day and go on to enjoy a minimum of 4 days in the saddle, taking in a combination of classic world-renowned cols and climbs made famous by the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana. We also introduce some undiscovered climbs favoured by local riders.

We offer 3 fully supported, guide-led rides with a support van on hand. We also offer a shorter ride, which is a warm-up ride on arrival day to ensure your rental bike is working fine.

Our tour is suitable for avid amateur cyclists to seasoned riders, with a love for the sport and a desire to ride in a cyclists paradise. Our guided rides are ridden at a pace dictated by the standard of your group, but we always take the time to enjoy the picturesque scenery.

We also have a team of local riders and mechanics on hand who will guide you around their home roads for an unforgettable experience.

More About Our Tour

Cycling in the Dolomites is a must for any cyclist who likes a challenge. There is plenty of elevation and scenic passes to be found. The Stelvio is iconic for its length, beautiful scenery and overall challenge. Our minimum 5-day, 4-night trip aims to tackle at least one iconic climb each day. On Stelvio day, be prepared for a lot of climbing, with the option to ascend from both sides in one day.
