Paris Roubaix is one of the biggest one-day races in the cycling calendar. It starts in Compiègne and finishes in the famous Roubaix velodrome covering roughly 260km. The highlight of the race are the 29 cobblestone sectors they face along the way which account for over 55km of the route making it both physically and technically demanding. Only the strongest riders stand a chance of winning on this momentous day. Last year the Paris Roubaix winner was Mathieu van der Poel. The day before you can watch the Paris Roubaix Femmes as the women take it on. Because of its difficulty it has earned its place as one of the 5 cycling monuments which also include; Milan Sanremo, Tour of Flanders, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Il Lombardia.

Day To Day
Travel to the hotel
Please make your own arrangements to arrive at the hotel today, where our friendly team will be available to greet you upon arrival. We will meet at the Van der Valk Gent hotel (Akkerhage 10, 9000 Ghent) where you can park your car or leave anything you don’t want to travel with.
Airport Transfer
If you plan to fly then we offer airport transfers for you and your luggage, from Brussels International Airport, Brussels South Charleroi Airport or another airport. Airport transfers are available at extra cost and are on request by contacting our team via hello@sportivebreaks.com
Our hotel
We will meet everyone at the Van der Valk Gent hotel and have some welcome drinks before your Team Visma | Lease a Bike hosts drive you to our hotel for the night. We will be staying at the Novotel Valenciennes hotel tonight, we will be here for 1 night before we travel to the Paris Roubaix start area tomorrow morning.
This afternoon and early evening, your Team Visma | Lease a Bike host is available for you at the hotel. During the evening meal we will provide a briefing on the exciting experience ahead, as well as offering you the opportunity to meet and greet the riders and support team. Your host will run you through what to expect from the race day tomorrow.
We will have breakfast at the hotel and check out, then your Paris Roubaix race day experience starts. You will spend the day as a guest of the team in an official TVL minibus equipped with route map and interior TV screens so we can watch the race live during the day.
On our way to the stage start we will visit the hotel where the team are staying. Here one of the team directors will give you the inside track on the team’s race tactics for the day. After this we make our way to the start location where we will visit the team bus and meet the riders as they prepare for the day ahead. There may even be time for a stroopwafel and a coffee. We will then visit the Start Village and the team paddock before setting off for the day.
You will spend the day with us in an official black and yellow TVL minibus equipped with food, drinks and interior TV screens so we can watch the stage live during the day*. You will drive on the course of the stage on closed roads and be a proper part of the support team. You will experience the race at various locations.
During the day we will be handing out wheels and water bottles during the race. We will also stop for a lunch break.
We head to the finish area to catch the finale of the race**. Hopefully we can join in with the team celebrations. After the race comes to a close your hosts will bring you to the Van der Valk Gent hotel where we will stay for the night.

Team Visma | Lease a Bike ‘in the Heart of the Race’ VIP experiences
Ahead of Race Day we will communicate the day’s itinerary and the start and finish locations.
The day begins with our Team Visma | Lease a Bike host who will meet you to begin your race day experience. You host will be an ex-pro rider who will offer professional insights into the race. The first stop is a visit to the team hotel where one of the team Directors will share the team’s race strategy with you for the day.
After visiting the team hotel, we set off for the start area where you will visit the Team Bus to see how a World Tour Cycling Team prepare for a race day. From there you visit the start village for the team presentations and rider sign on. Now it’s time for the race to get underway.
You will be in an official Team Visma | Lease a Bike vehicle with full race accreditation for access to the race course. The vehicle is equipped with a map of the official race route and live TV coverage. During the day you will stop at multiple points on the roadside and have a chance to hand out bottles to the riders as they come past. During the day we will stop for lunch along with having snacks and drinks available throughout the day.
We aim to arrive at the finish in time to see it live but we can’t guarantee this as it depends on how the race plays out on the day. Once the race and podium ceremonies are over the full race day experience with Team Visma | Lease a Bike draws to a close. Your host will take you to the end point.
