2024 Haute Route Alps with Sportive Breaks

Haute Route Alps is a tough but rewarding 7- day sportive, giving you a taste of the life of a professional cyclist in a stage race. The route takes in some of the toughest and most iconic climbs in the Alps. The event consists of 6 multi-mountain stages & an uphill time trial. Support at the Haute Route is unparalleled and and the entry includes a lot of services. You truly live and compete like a Pro cyclist for a week.

One of the toughest weeks in amateur cycling, the Haute Route Alps is the flagship event of the Haute Route Cycling Series. This is a week of cycling bucket list climbs made famous by the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia. A lot of it is spent at altitude with several cols over 2,000 metres above sea level.

2024 Haute Route Alps dates

The 2024 Haute Route dates are Sunday 25 to Saturday 31 August 2024. Our 8-night package will start on Saturday 24 August and finish on Sunday 1 September.

The 2024 route will start in Megeve and finish in Nice. The route changes every year so we will update this page as soon as the full 2024 route has been announced.

Guarantee your place now by paying a refundable $200 deposit. We will confirm the price of our tour once the route has been announced, the 2024 entry fee has been publicised and we have confirmed our hotels. Our 2024 Haute Route package is limited to 15 riders.

Itinerary

Travel to Megève

Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel in Megève today. Our team will be available to meet you at the hotel. If you plan to fly then we offer a airport transfer for you, your luggage and your bike from Geneva Airport at 12:00. 

Our hotel

We are staying at the hotel TBC. Your stay will be for 1 night on a bed and breakfast basis so with breakfasts included. You will have an early breakfast on the day of stage 1. You can keep your bike in your room with you.

What about my bike?

You can bring your own bike as we have made arrangements to transport bike boxes on our airport transfers. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your bike after travel.

This afternoon and early evening, our tour leaders and bike mechanics are available for you. The evening is free for you to eat out in one of Megeve’s many restaurants.

Typical day on the Haute Route

  • 05.30 – Wake up and breakfast
  • 06.30 – Drop off your bags with our team
  • 07.00 – Ride to the start line
  • 07.30 – Start of the stage
  • Private Team Sportive Breaks feed stations in pre-agreed places
  • 12.30 – Finish first riders
  • Hotel check-in, collect bags, post-stage snacks and drinks, massage, bike check, relax
  • 16.30 – Finish last riders
  • 18.30 – Race briefing
  • 20.00 – Evening meal (optional, at own expense) and team briefing

Climbs: Col des Aravis, Col de la Colombiere and finishing at the Altiport in Megeve.

After the finish, our team will guide you to your hotel. Your bags will be ready in reception. There’s time to book a massage, get your bike checked by our mechanic and relax. After the Haute Route race briefing, the evening is free.

114.5KM and 3200M of elevation. 

Climbs: Col des Saisies and Col de la Loza

We have an early breakfast at the hotel today. We ask you to have your bags ready in reception and our team will collect these for you. The bags will be delivered to your hotel in TBC.
After the finish, our team will guide you to your hotel. Your bags will be ready in reception. There’s time to book a massage, get your bike checked by our mechanic and relax. After the Haute Route race briefing, the evening is free to relax.

137KM and 4450M of elevation. 

Climbs: Col de la Madeleine, Col du Glandon and finishing at the top of Alpe d’Huez.

We have an early breakfast at the hotel today. We ask you to have your bags ready in reception and our team will collect these for you. The bags will be delivered to your hotel in TBC.
After the finish, our team will guide you to your hotel. Your bags will be ready in reception. There’s time to book a massage, get your bike checked by our mechanic and relax. After the Haute Route race briefing, the evening is free to relax.

Todays stage – Time Trial.

16KM and 1125M of elevation. 

Climbs: Alpe d’Huez

We have an early breakfast at the hotel today. We ask you to have your bags ready in reception and our team will collect these for you. The bags will be delivered to your hotel in TBC.
After the finish, our team will guide you to your hotel. Your bags will be ready in reception. There’s time to book a massage, get your bike checked by our mechanic and relax. After the Haute Route race briefing, the evening is free to relax.

86KM and 2800M of elevation. 

Climbs: Col du Lautaret and Col du Granon

We have an early breakfast at the hotel today. We ask you to have your bags ready in reception and our team will collect these for you. The bags will be delivered to your hotel in TBC.

After the finish, our team will guide you to your hotel. Your bags will be ready in reception. There’s time to book a massage, get your bike checked by our mechanic and relax. After the haute Route race briefing, we’ll have the evening meal together at the hotel.

Todays stage – 

139KM and 3650M of elevation. 

Climbs: Col de Vars, Col de la Bonnette and Auron.

We have a slightly later breakfast at the hotel today. There is no need to have your bags ready in reception as we’ll be staying another night in TBC.

After the finish, ride back to the hotel. There’s time to book a massage, get your bike checked by our mechanic and relax. No evening meal tonight as there is a Haute Route closing ceremony.
This evening you can collect your bike box and our mechanic is available to assist you with re-packing your bike into the box so you’re ready for travel tomorrow.

122KM and 1600M of elevation. 

Climbs: Col St-Martin

After breakfast we offer our a optional transfer back to Nice airport. We advise you not to book any flights before 10:00 as it will be a mega early start. Our airport transfer will leave Nice at 09:30 in time for flights that depart Geneva after 12:00.
