The 2026 Giro d'Italia Route Overview
The 2026 Giro d’Italia will start in Nessebar, Bulgaria and finish in Sofia before entering Italy for the final 18 days of the race.
Once the Giro d’Italia has returned to Italy, the racing will start in Catanzaro which is located in the south of Italy. It will then move north reaching Naples on Stage 6. The race will keep heading north for the mountains, where we expect the fight for the Maglia Rosa to begin.
The 2026 Edition of the Giro d’Italia will only feature one Time Trial on stage 10, it will however feature six mountain stages including two five star stages. The battle for the endless trophy will most likely be won on stage 19, where riders will have to tackle more than 5000m of climbing followed by another mountain stage the next day.
The Riders will then head to Rome to parade their final positions in the general classification, whilst the sprinters will have one last battle for the infamous stage 21.
