Cycle Mont Ventoux with Sportive Breaks

Mont Ventoux has earned the nicknamed “The Giant of Provence” with good reason. With 3 sides to climb the mountain and each side covering more than 20km to reach the summit, its no easy feat to crest the summit.

Its located in the Provence region of southern France. While located close to the Alps its often considered separate due to its isolated location away from other mountains. Its unique visual appearance creates a memorable image for those visiting the area or watching the Tour from home. The top of Mont Ventoux is bare limestone, void of vegetation and trees creating a unique landscape. While ascending you will also find the monument to the British rider Tom Simpson, around 1km from the top.

The Tour often visits and guarantees a spectacle on any stage its featured in. In 2025 it hosted a summit finish which was won by Valentin Paret Peintre of Soudal Quick-Step in a 3 man sprint to the line.
