Milan Sanremo is the longest professional bike race in the world covering nearly 300km, starting near Milan and finishing in the picturesque seaside town of Sanremo. Whilst this race is famous for its length, the action comes within the last 30km with 2 climbs; the Cipressa and the Poggio. Milan Sanremo is a keen test for who has the most energy reserves left and who has the most nerve for descending in order to take the win. Last year the man to come out on top at Milan Sanremo was Mathieu van der Poel ahead of Filippo Ganna and Tadej Pogacar. Because of its difficulty and tradition Milan Sanremo has earned its place as one of the 5 cycling monuments, alongside; Tour of Flanders, Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Il Lombardia.

Itinerary
Day To Day
Arrival in Milan
Please make your way to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Milan Linate this afternoon for a 15:00 check in, to allow time to visit the team hotel.
Optional Airport Transfer
If you plan to fly to Milan, then we offer optional airport transfers at a supplement, from Milan Malpensa Airport or Milan Linate Airport. Please note that we are transferring to Nice after the race so it is recommended to get a flight back from Nice Airport. Please contact our team for a quote – [email protected]
This Afternoon & Evening
After checking in, your hosts will meet in the hotel lobby and drive to the team hotel for a guided tour. We will then return to our hotel for an evening meal together. Your host will brief you on what to expect from race day tomorrow.
If you don’t book Friday night at our hotel, please plan to meet us at 08:00 this morning (exact time to be confirmed)
After breakfast at the hotel we will gather and check out of the hotel, then your Milan Sanremo day starts. You will spend the day as a guest of the team in an official TVL minibus equipped with route map and interior TV screens so we can watch the race live during the day*.
We make our way to the start area, where we will visit the team bus and meet the riders as they prepare for the day ahead. We can also visit the Start Village and the team paddock, to size up the competition, before setting off for the day.
You will drive on the race route on closed roads and be a part of the support team. You will experience the race at various locations. Depending on the race scenario, one stop may involve watching your host support the team by handing out bottles or spare wheels. We will also stop for a lunch break.
We will head to the finish area to catch the finale of the race**. Hopefully we can join in with the team celebrations and toast a well earned victory! After the race comes to a close we will travel to our next hotel in Nice, where we will enjoy an evening meal together and relive the day’s action.
If you don’t book Saturday night at our hotel, please arrange your own travel plans for after the race finish in Sanremo.
*Please note that reception may be affected in certain regions which may affect transmission quality throughout the day.

Breakfast is included this morning, before checking out of the hotel.
We are staying within walking distance of Nice Airport, so you can easily make your own onward travel plans.

Team Visma | Lease a Bike ‘in the Heart of the Race’ VIP experiences
On Race Day the day begins with our Team Visma | Lease a Bike host who will meet you to begin your race day experience. Your host will be an ex-pro rider who will offer professional insights into the race. The first stop is a visit to the team hotel where one of the team Directors will share the team’s race strategy with you for the day.
After visiting the team hotel, we set off for the start area where you will visit the Team Bus to see how a World Tour Cycling Team prepare for a race day. From there you visit the start village for the team presentations and rider sign on. Now it’s time for the race to get underway.
You will be in an official Team Visma | Lease a Bike vehicle with full race accreditation for access to the race course. The vehicle is equipped with a map of the official race route and live TV coverage. During the day you will stop at multiple points on the roadside and cheer on the riders as they come past. During the day we will stop for lunch along with having snacks and drinks available throughout the day.
We aim to arrive at the finish in time to see it live but we can’t guarantee this as it depends on how the race plays out on the day. Once the race and podium ceremonies are over the full race day experience with Team Visma | Lease a Bike draws to a close. Your host will take you to the end point.
