The Amstel Gold Race is an annual one-day road cycling race in Limburg, Netherlands that marks the start of the Ardennes Classics Week. The race is known to be challenging due to its length and challenging terrain. The winner of this race needs to be a strong, punchy climber in order to challenge for the win. The Adrennes Classics Week is a one week period where 3 races are held within the region, starting with Amstel Gold Race and followed by La Fleche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege, all of which you can enjoy as a guest of Team Visma | Lease a Bike.

Itinerary
Amstel Gold Race takes place in the Limburg, Netherlands. The race starts in Maastricht and finishes after about 250km in Valkenburg. The race starts at 10:45 and the finish will be around 16.45.
The Ardennes Classics are a series of cycling races that take place each year in the same order in the Belgian Ardennes and south Limburg in the Netherlands. These races lead up to the monument, Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
The Ardennes Classics include the below events:
- La Fleche Wallonne takes place on Wednesday between Amstel Gold Race and Liege-Bastogne-Liege
- Liege-Bastogne-Liege is a cycling monument and takes place on the Sunday
2024 Amstel Gold Race
The 2024 event took place on its usual route between Maastricht and Valkenburg over 255.2km with 33 climbs. Tiesj Benoot came close for Team Visma | Lease a Bike by taking 3rd place in a sprint from a reduced group in the finale.
After booking you will be contacted by Sportive Breaks with the details of the meeting point for the day. This is most likely the official Team Hotel (exceptions to this may apply and this cannot be guaranteed). This will be the collection point and can also be the drop off point at the end of the day (can be discussed based on your needs).
You will be met by your host and driver for the day who is a former Professional Cyclist who speaks English. You will spend the day as a guest of the team in an official TVL minibus equipped with route map and interior TV screens so we can watch the race live during the day.
On our way to the stage start we will visit the hotel where the team are staying. Here one of the team directors will give you the inside track on the team’s race tactics for the day. After this we make our way to the start location where we will visit the team bus and meet the riders as they prepare for the day ahead. There may even be time for a stroopwafel and a coffee. We will then visit the Start Village and the team paddock before setting off for the day.
You will spend the day with us in an official black and yellow TVL minibus equipped with food, drinks and interior TV screens so we can watch the stage live during the day*. You will drive on the course of the stage on closed roads and be a proper part of the support team. You will experience the race at various locations.
During the day we will be handing out wheels and water bottles during the race. We will also stop for a lunch break.
We head to the finish area to catch the finale of the race**. Hopefully we can join in with the team celebrations. After the race comes to a close we take you back to the days meeting point.

Team Visma | Lease a Bike ‘in the Heart of the Race’ VIP experiences
Ahead of Race Day we will communicate the day’s itinerary and the start and finish locations.
The day begins with our Team Visma | Lease a Bike host who will meet you to begin your race day experience. You host will be an ex-pro rider who will offer professional insights into the race. The first stop is a visit to the team hotel where one of the team Directors will share the team’s race strategy with you for the day.
After visiting the team hotel, we set off for the start area where you will visit the Team Bus to see how a World Tour Cycling Team prepare for a race day. From there you visit the start village for the team presentations and rider sign on. Now it’s time for the race to get underway.
You will be in an official Team Visma | Lease a Bike vehicle with full race accreditation for access to the race course. The vehicle is equipped with a map of the official race route and live TV coverage. During the day you will stop at multiple points on the roadside and have a chance to hand out bottles to the riders as they come past. During the day we will stop for lunch along with having snacks and drinks available throughout the day.
We aim to arrive at the finish in time to see it live but we can’t guarantee this as it depends on how the race plays out on the day. Once the race and podium ceremonies are over the full race day experience with Team Visma | Lease a Bike draws to a close. Your host will take you to the end point.
