Tour of Flanders 2026

The most important cycling race in Belgium

With a rich history that spans over 100 years, the Tour of Flanders is the most famous cycling race in Belgium. Well-renowned for the challenges it poses to riders with a mixture of challenging steep cobbled climbs, narrow concrete roads and the constant accelerations required out of the very frequent tight corners, Tour of Flanders really has everything you need from a road cycling course. Held annually since 1913 in Belgium, this one-day classic exemplifies everything to love about professional cycling and with the men’s and women’s races taking place on the same day you get twice as much cycling action.

The date of the 2026 Tour of Flanders is Sunday 5 April. The Tour of Flanders Sportive called We Ride Flanders takes place on Saturday 4 April. Antwerp will host the start of the Tour of Flanders in 2026, while Brugge will host the start again in 2027. The finish remains in Oudenaarde. For several years now there is a popular Sportive event for amateur cyclists called ‘We Ride Flanders’. The Sportive takes place in the same weekend on the Saturday before the Tour of Flanders. The Sportive starts and finishes in Oudenaarde with the exception of the start of the long distance event which starts in Antwerp in 2026.

The Tour of Flanders’ enduring appeal comes from its unique combination of historical significance, unforgiving terrain, and passionate fans. Equally captivating is the event’s deep role in Flemish culture. The Tour of Flanders is more than just a bike race; it is a celebration of Flemish identity. Fans line the route in their thousands, waving flags, cheering loudly, and creating an electric atmosphere. The passion is palpable, with spectators treating the race as a sacred tradition passed down through generations.

Whether you want to watch the action unfold in a premium hospitality position, replicate the riders themselves and take part in the Sportive, or follow a Pro team throughout the day, Sportive Breaks have a package that will fulfil everything you need out of one of the five monuments.
