Bourg-Saint-Maurice

Birdseye view of some of the hills and climbs visible on the Route Des Grandes Alpes

Breakfast will be available at the hotel this morning, before we depart on our first guided ride.

Starting in Morzine, there’s a couple of warm up ramps, before you descend to the Arve Valley and head to Sallaches. This is where today’s climbing ready starts, as you ascend to Megeve. Once through Megeve, you’ll leave the valley road at Flumet to take on the steady ascent to Les Saisles. From here you will descend through Hauteluce and the climbing will begin again in Beaufort. The toughest part of the ride will be next, where you will face the Col du Pre, which is steep at times, but offers fabulous views of Lac de Roselend once you are over the top and on the descent. From here, you’ll head across the dam (Barrage) to the final 5km to the top of the Cormet de Roselend -before finishing with a fast, technical descent into Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

Dinner is available at the hotel today.

Breakfast will be available at the hotel this morning, before we depart on our second guided ride.

You will start with a steady ascent from Bourg to Val d’Isère before tackling the long, exposed climb to the Iseran summit at 2,764m—expect breathtaking views and thin air. The descent into the Maurienne valley is gradual, dropping through Bonneval-sur-Arc and Lanslevillard before easing off toward Saint-Michel, carefully. Weather can change rapidly at altitude—pack layers and lights for tunnels.

Breakfast will be available at the hotel this morning, before your sixth and final ride.

Today will be a relaxed ride, with little elevation compared to the previous rides. The day will begin with a fast descent through the Vésubie Valley, passing Lantosque and Roquebillière before easing onto wider roads near Levens. After Levens, the terrain undulates before the flowing descent into Nice where we will finish on the promenade. A fitting end to what we hope has been a memorable week for you and your group.

Once we arrive in Nice, please pack your luggage away ready for your transfer tomorrow morning. We will then have a celebration meal in Nice centre, where stories and photos can be discussed over a glass of wine.
