When should we book?

While the Raid Pyrénéen can technically be completed from March onwards, the best time to take on this iconic coast-to-coast challenge is typically in late spring to early summer (May to July) or during the early autumn months of September and October.

These periods generally offer the most favourable balance of weather, road conditions and daylight hours, with mountain passes more likely to be fully open and temperatures remaining comfortable for long days in the saddle. Early spring can still bring snow, ice and pass closures at higher elevations, while the height of summer may see intense heat on exposed climbs and increased tourist traffic.

By choosing late spring, early summer or autumn, riders are more likely to enjoy stable weather, spectacular scenery and safer, more enjoyable riding conditions

Pricing

We stay in a carefully chosen mix of 2- to 3-star hotels that reflect the authentic character of the Pyrenees. Many of the villages on our route are far off the tourist trail, so accommodation is limited, but that’s part of the charm. Each hotel is selected for its local feel, starting with a traditional Basque hotel and continuing with a blend of remote mountain and town-center stays. The journey concludes in style, overlooking the Mediterranean in Cerbère.
