Itinerary

Day To Day

Please make your own arrangements to Liege or meet us at Brussels International Airport (Zaventem). We will run one transfer from the airport today at 11.30. Please allow an hour from your flight landing time to your transfer time, to allow you to get through passport control and collect your luggage. The transfer takes approximately 1 hour so we will get to Liege for about 12.30.
We will have your Sportive Entry available for you so no need to visit the expo today to collect your bib for tomorrow’s LBL challenge. If you have hired a bike with us, we will take you to collect your bike.

Today is the day! We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurant. It’s 25km to the Sportive start location so we offer transport to get there. The challenge operates rolling start times rather than a mass start.
257 km: between 6:30am and 7:30am
147 km: between 6:30am and 9:30am
70 km: between 8am and 10am

After breakfast we will walk over to Place Saint Lambert to enjoy the build up to the race. The race starts for about 09.15 and finishes at about 16.00.
After the riders are on the way, we provide a guided ride to watch the riders come past several times in different locations. We will be back in Liege for the finish.
If you’d prefer to rest your legs today, you can stay in Liege where there will be plenty of like-minded fans watching the race unfold in a cafe before heading outside to catch the finish.
In the afternoon, we will collect rental bikes plus we assist with re-packing your bikes for travel.

We will run one airport transfer to Brussels Airport on departure at 09.00 for flights departing after 12.00. (available at a supplement)

More About the Event

The Liege Bastogne Liege Sportive on Saturday 22 April is the hardest sportive of the spring classics. The full route of the Liege Bastogne Liege Sportive is a full 258km and a massive 4,400 metres of climbing – more than Stelvio Santini or the Etape du Tour! The following day on Sunday 23 April, the Pros tackle the 2023 Liege Bastogne Liege thus making this a great weekend to explore a rarely visited part of Belgium.

For amateur riders, the ultimate challenge is to cover the entire distance of Liège-Bastogne-Liège like the pros the following day. Famous hills such as the Côte de Saint-Roch (the wall of Houffalize), Côte de Wanne, Côte de Stockeu will make an impression on the longest distance of the Liège-Bastogne-Liège Challenge.

Shorter distances of 147k and 70 km are also available with all Sportive distances starting and finishing near Liege.
