Tenerife has the perfect temperate climate year-round for cycling, as well as lovely smooth roads and plenty of climbing options. These are just a few of the reasons the pro teams spend time here training. With Sportive Breaks you can now enjoy the same routes, great restaurants and cafes, as well as the cycling culture in Tenerife, all under your own steam with a self-guided road cycling holiday. This type of trip provides the freedom to explore, without having to get up early to join a group ride with people of different abilities. It allows you to head out at whatever time you like on a ride that suits you for distance, pace, elevation gain and to take in the parts of the island you want to visit on any particular day.
We’ll provide you with a GPS navigation app with a selection of routes to ride during your stay; whether it’s more leisurely cycling, punchier shorter routes with climbing, or something more challenging altogether by heading up towards the volcanic top of Mount Teide. You may even spot some pros out and about whilst you’re cycling!
You choose how many nights you stay – we have a selection of durations from 5 nights, but if you want to stay for a longer or shorter period of time just let us know and we’ll tailor the trip to your requirements. Self catering is available, private transfers and bike rental (including e-bikes) can also be included in your tailored package.
Itinerary
Day To Day
On arrival at Tenerife South Airport, your private transfer (if included in your booking) will be waiting for you to drive you to your hotel in Los Cristianos – approximately 15-20 minutes away. If you’re planning to bring your own bike, this will need to be added to your transfer request and will be transported with you (this could be a separate vehicle for your bike box, dependant on the number of passengers).
Depending on your arrival and departure times, you may be able to add in some extra cycling time on your arrival and departure days – please ensure you have included enough bike rental time for this if you’re renting a bike to be picked up in Tenerife.
It’s entirely up to you how you plan your cycling schedule during your stay. There are plenty of routes that set off from a central point in Los Cristianos, so you can choose your route for each day and also when you wish to rest and relax. Below are a few examples of route options:
- Mirador de la centinela – 35km / +730m
- El Medano Coastal Ride – 60km / +830m
- Teleferico El Tiede out and back – 97km / +2600m
- Arico – Poris – Arico – San Isidro – Chafiras – Aldea Blanco – 100km / +1900m
- Mount Tiede – 145km / + 3500m
- San Isidro Warm-up/Recovery ride – 50km / + 930m
After breakfast your transfer to Tenerife South Airport takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

This attractive complex offers comfortable suites that feature unique balconies, which are typical of the Canary Islands. This property is set in pretty, landscaped gardens. This ideal holiday destination offers very large and comfortable units, a friendly atmosphere and a very convenient location. The complex enjoys both a peaceful position while still being near to the local conveniences and shopping centre of the resort. Each bright and colorful apartment comes with a seating area and a fully equipped kitchen. Soak up the sun on the loungers provided before cooling off in the outdoor pool or with a refreshing drink from the relaxed bar of the Alisios.

When does my rental start and end?
Your rental starts at 9am on the date of hire and will end at 5pm on the last day of rental. This means we don’t offer 24 hour rentals.
If you hire the bike for one day, that would mean you could pick up the bike at 9am and would have to return it before 5pm on the same day.
