Travel to our first hotel

Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel today. Our team will be available to meet you at the hotel. If you plan to fly then we offer airport transfers for you and your luggage, from the advertised airport. The journey to our first hotel depends on the hotel location and can be found in the detailed itinerary available with each stage.

Latest arrival time

To make use of our airport transfer you must be at the airport before our latest arrival time. This time is communicated in advance for each trip and is different depending on the transfer time. This time is usually 12:00pm – 13:00pm. Please refer to the individual trip details for timings.

Our hotel

We are staying at a conveniently located hotel that is close to the start of tomorrow’s stage. Your stay will be for 2 nights and will be on a half-board basis, with breakfast and evening meals included. Depending on your chosen stage you will either stay in the same hotel for both nights or you may stay in a different hotel after the stage. In this case we will transport your luggage with you during tomorrow’s VIP experience.

Lunch

On arrival at the hotel, you will have time to check in, freshen up and enjoy a light lunch with us.

Afternoon activity

Cultural Experience for non-cyclists

On the first day of the trip, you are invited to join your host and the rest of the group for a cycling experience in the local area (more information below). For those of you who don’t want to cycle, there is an alternative experience on offer which takes place at the same time. These are local cultural or sightseeing experiences or outdoor activities like walks in the local area. As we are in a different area for every stage the experiences are different each time. Please refer to each stage’s individual itinerary to see the details.

Cycling Experience

The Cycling Experience is an afternoon programme where cycling is done in groups under the guidance of a former professional in the vicinity of the Tour de France.

Given the location, experience on a racing bike and cycling in hilly environments is necessary. Participants are requested to make a good assessment of their participation and to contact us if they have any questions – hello@sportivebreaks.com

Conditions:

• Participation is at your own risk
• Participant is in good condition to participate in the Cycling Experience
• Participant has cycling experience
• Wearing a helmet is mandatory
• Participant ensures correct cycling clothing, cycling shoes, and gloves
• Bicycles are provided by Team Visma | Lease a Bike

This afternoon and early evening, our tour host is available for you at the hotel. During the evening meal we will provide a briefing on the exciting experience ahead.

After breakfast at the hotel and checking out (if we are staying at a different hotel tonight) we assist you with loading your bags onto the tour vehicle. You will spend the day with us in an official black and white TVL minibus equipped with food and drinks and interior TV screens so we can watch the stage live during the day*

Visit to the Team Hotel

We will travel the short distance to the hotel where the team are staying. Here you will meet the team and one of the team directors will brief you on the team’s race tactics for the day’s stage.

Start Village

After the team hotel visit, we make our way to the start location where we will visit the Team Bus. Here there is time to have a look around, enjoy a coffee and a snack ahead of visiting the Village Depart before setting off for the day. You will drive on the course of the stage on closed roads and be a proper part of the support team. You will experience the race at various locations with Team Visma | Lease a Bike vehicles.

During the day we will be handing out water bottles and wheels during the race. We will also stop for a lunch break.

The Finish

At the finish we will have access to finish hospitality** from where we will watch the finish of today’s stage and witness the podium ceremony before we take you back to the hotel.

At the hotel we will enjoy the evening meal and toast the amazing day that we’ve just had together.

*Please note that reception may be affected in mountainous regions which may affect transmission quality throughout the day.
