At Sportive Breaks, we pride ourselves on the range and variety of products that we have on offer for cyclists. Whether you’re looking to follow one of the biggest races in the sport, experience the finest hospitality at the finish line or making your own path on one of our self-guided trips, there’s something for everyone when you book with us. But something that is truly unique to our brand are weekenders.
So what is a weekender? Here is everything you need to know…
What is a Weekender?
Exactly that! It’s the opportunity to cycle some of the most iconic and beautiful locations in Europe in the space of a long weekend. Perfect for those looking to fit cycling around a busy schedule or to tick off some of the best cycling experiences in a shorter amount of time, weekenders cater for a broad range of cyclists searching for that next high.
Why choose a Weekender?
There’s a number of really enticing reasons why you should choose a Weekender for this year’s cycling holiday. If you’re looking to fit in a cycling-specific holiday to your busy schedule, Weekenders allow you to cycle long distances, take on impressive climbs and experience great views in the space of 3 or 4 days.
It’s the opportunity to cycle some of the most iconic and desirable locations not just in cycling, but in Europe generally! If you’ve got a cycling bucket list, our Weekenders are a great way to tick off those must-visit cycling locations in Europe from the stunning Alpe d’Huez region, to beautiful Spanish locations like Mallorca, through to the iconic Italian Dolomites region. You can choose the location that suits you best, and we are able to cater to your specific needs, just get in touch with one of our team during the booking process.
If you’re looking to spend a weekend with like-minded cyclists, experiencing the camaraderie and buzz of ascending great climbs and pacey descents, Weekenders help you live out your cycling dream!
What are the benefits of a Weekender?
We organise everything for you! Once you have arranged your flights, we’ll sort your bike rental for you. There’s no need to worry about maps, plans or routes, as our designated guide will be there to take you to the must-visit locations along the way. And if things go wrong, we have expert mechanics there to get you back on the road as soon as possible.
As well as beautiful locations and a weekend full of riding, there’s a number of benefits to you as an individual on our Weekender trips. You can spread your payments with our interest-free payment method, meaning you don’t have to pay the full amount as soon as you purchase.
You don’t need to worry about your skill level as we have different levels of riding groups every day. From a leisurely coffee ride group to hard riding, we have you covered. You can even mix and match as there is no need to stick with the same group every day!
Weekenders are a great way to experience the best climbs. Whether it’s Puig Major and Col de Soller in Mallorca, up Alpe d’Huez and other legendary cycling climbs or some of the iconic Spanish climbs around Girona such as Els Angels, there’s something for everyone.
You can also discover the real heart of the locations you visit. Far away from the beaches and tourism, our Weekender locations showcase the very best of their areas, from slow paced villages and rolling hills to great food and even better climbs!
That doesn’t have to be all for your trip either! Although they are called ‘Weekenders’ you can book extra nights to suit your requirements. Just contact us when you book to learn more.
Where can I go on a Weekender?
All of the top cycling locations in central Europe! Whether it’s the sun, sights and seaside views of Mallorca, or the stunning climbs and scenery of our Stelvio Weekender, there’s plenty to choose from. We currently offer eight locations to get those pedals turning…
