2024 Etape du Tour Entry
The 2024 Etape du Tour de France will take place on Sunday 7 July 2024 in the French Alps. The 2024 Tour de France stage that has been chosen will be announced at the same time as the 2024 Tour de France route presentation in October.
Entries to the 2023 Etape du Tour sold out in record time when they went on sale. Not to worry as you can still book your Etape entry with Sportive Breaks. Buy your entry at $250 if you book one of our hotel packages or $530 for the entry only without hotel.

Itinerary 2024 Etape du Tour
Day To Day
Please make your own arrangements to arrive at your chosen hotel today. Our team will be available to meet you at the hotel. If you plan to fly then we offer airport transfers for you, your luggage and your bike from the airport.
Airport transfers
We offer regular airport transfers throughout the day at $115 one way and $190 return.
Group transfers will depart the airport at regular intervals between 10.00 and 19.00. Please book flights that arrive before 18.00 to make use of the last group transfer at 19.00. If you arrive after 19.00, we can arrange private transfers – please contact us here for costs – [email protected]
Our hotels and apartments
We offer a wide variety of accommodation. Hotels are available on Bed and Breakfast and Half Board basis. If you have breakfast included, then you will have an early breakfast on Etape du Tour day.
What about my bike?
You can bring your own bike as we will make arrangements to transport bike boxes on our airport transfers. Alternatively, you can rent a bike with us for the weekend. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with fitting your rental bike or building your own bike after travel. Bikes can be safely stored at the hotel.
This afternoon and early evening, our tour leaders and bike mechanics are available for you. The evening is free for you to eat out if you don’t have evening meal included at your hotel.
After breakfast and preparing the bikes, we will take you on a supported, guided ride. We’ll be back at the hotel in the afternoon for you to rest and get prepared for tomorrow.
Entry Delivery
For those who have booked their entry with our hotel packages, there is no need to go to the Etape Expo to collect your entry packs. We will deliver your entry to you. To enable us to do this, you must have uploaded your medical certificate to your account beforehand.
People who have booked Entry Only need to let us know in advance if they would like to eollect their race packs from the Expo or from us.
Race Briefing
This evening our bike guides will do a race briefing to run through Etape day logistics and of course the route.
The evening is free for you to eat at your hotel or eat out at a local restaurant.
We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurants. Those who have booked self-catering residences need to ensure they prepare their own breakfasts this morning.
Below is an overview of 2023 Etape day logistics – these will change depending on the location of start and finish

- Day bags available for you at our feed stations
- Finish reception area with food and drinks to celebrate your achievement
- After you’ve recovered, simply roll or walk over to your hotel
The 2024 Etape du Tour
The Etape du Tour start is done in waves. You will be allocated a start pen with a time that you have to enter the pen plus a start time. Previous editions have started between 07:00 and 08:30. The Etape du Tour is a race with cut off points. You need to have passed certain points on the route at a certain time otherwise you will be eliminated from the route. If you’re eliminated your bike will go on a bike trailer and you will be transported to the finish.
This afternoon and early evening please re-pack your bikes ahead of travel and you’ll also be able to return your rental bikes with us.
This morning we will offer our optional transfer back to the airport. If you book these transfers with us, we advise you not to book any flights that are too early as it will be a mega early start. We advise you to book flights after 10.00.
More About the Event
Every year one of the toughest mountain stages of the Tour de France is selected to be that year’s Etape du Tour. The 2024 Etape du Tour de France will take place on Sunday 7 July or Sunday 14 July. The last 6 editions have all been held in the Alps with the last Pyrenean Etape du Tour taking place as far back as 2014.
