Join Sportive Breaks in April to Ride & Watch the oldest and toughest of the Spring Classics. The full route of Liege Bastogne Liege is 165 miles and a massive 14,400 feet climbing. Also known as “La Doyenne” or “The Old Lady” of the classics, the route includes some of the toughest climbs in the Belgian Ardennes, most famously the Cote de la Redoute. After completing this great feat yourself on Saturday, sit back and watch the pros race their final spring classic on Sunday, and enjoy this often overlooked and unique area of Belgium.
Stay at one of the best hotels in Liege: The Penta hotel is a 4* hotel located in the center of Liege.
Ride and watch: Ride the toughest of all the spring classics on Saturday and watch the Pros on Sunday.
Transport: The Sportive start and finish are in Sprimont (15 miles from Liege). Return transportation provided.
Bike rental : Mechanic available all weekend. Bike rental for $285.

Airport Transfer: An optional transfer from Brussels International Airport (BRU) is available, departing for Liege at 11:30 AM. Please book arriving flights before 10 AM to allow you to clear customs and collect your luggage. The transfer to Liege is approximately 1 hour so we expect to arrive at 12:30 PM.
Independent Arrival: Alternatively, make your own way to Liege to our hotel.
Your Bike: Our mechanic will be at the hotel this afternoon if you require any assistance with building your bike. If you rent a bike for the weekend, this will be available this afternoon.
Guided Ride: At 2 PM this afternoon, join us on our guided ride. We will ride out from our hotel on a short ride, to help loosen your legs after a long flight, and familiarize yourself with your new bike if you have chosen to rent.
This Evening: We will have a meal together at the hotel this evening. Our team will talk you through the plan for the weekend, and give you some advice ahead of the ride tomorrow. We will also hand out your start number for tomorrow, so you don’t need to travel to the expo to register.
An early breakfast is arranged in our hotel this morning. Rolling starts usually begin at 6:30 AM and transportation to the start is provided for all bikes and riders. Times below are approximate, based on previous years.

Our vehicle will wait at the Start/Finish area in Sprimont, and will provide shuttles back to our hotel through the afternoon.
After breakfast we travel to Quai des Ardennes to enjoy the build up to the race. The riders set off at 9:15 AM and return about 4:00 PM. We will then offer a shuttle service out onto the race route to watch the live action.
If you would prefer to rest your legs and spend the day in Liege, there will be plenty of like-minded fans watching the race unfold in a cafe before heading outside to catch the finish. The race organizers usually install a giant screen near the finish area to allow the public to watch the race.
In the evening, we will collect rental bikes, and assist with re-packing your bikes for travel.
We will run one airport transfer to Brussels Airport on departure at 09.00 for flights departing after 12.00. (available at a supplement)
The Liege Bastogne Liege Sportive is the hardest sportive of the spring classics. For amateur riders, the ultimate challenge is to do the long distance and ride the same route the pros will ride on the following day. You will climb Côte de Saint-Roch (the wall of Houffalize), Côte de Wanne, and Côte de Stockeu.
Shorter distances of 95 miles and 50 miles are available. All Sportive distances start and finish near Liege.
Please note that the start and the finish of the LBL Challenge is no longer in the center of Liege. The Sportive now starts and finishes in Sprimont. Our package includes transfers for you and your bike between Liege and Sprimont.
