Santini GF Mont Ventoux

Mont Ventoux is the most famous climb in cycling and has lacked a world class sportive to accompany it, until now. The Ventoux Santini is a perfect way to ride this classic climb with a great route taking in stunning parts of Provence and a couple of nice warm up climbs before hitting the Ventoux. Enjoy mechanical support and feed stations to help you ride at your best. Come out for 3 nights and enjoy a guided warm up ride in Provence and a celebratory dinner in Bedoin after the ride. The sportive is challenging but not too hard so suits most types of rider. On the Monday there is the brand new pro race on Ventoux which mirrors this sportive. Catch the action on the mountain before heading home on Tuesday.

Routes & FAQs

The Routes

A stunning route taking in some great local roads with a choice of climbing the Ventoux from Sault (short route) or the classic side from Bedoin (long route). The first half of the route is undulating with some feature climbs to soften you up for the major challenge of the day.

Choose the Route

Ride Distance: 3300

Elevation gain: 135

Starting from Vaison la Romaine at 7.30am, the long route packs in over 1,000m of elevation over the first 60km before a long descent down to Bedoin. Cut off for the climb is at 1pm (116km) and then you are onto the Ventoux. The first few kms are deceptively easy and then the gradients ramp up in the woods. You then reach Chalet Renard and hit the lunar landscape where it gets a little easier (winds dependent!). Finish at the summit and descent home to Bedoin.

Getting There

Fly into Marseille. Our transfer will meet you from there for the 1hr30 drive to our base in Bedoin.

Documents Required

You will need a signed medical certificate to get your race pack. We will send a template for you to take to your GP.

What to Pack

In June the weather is pretty perfect but even on the nicest day things can change quickly on the Ventoux. The gradients are typicallly 8-10%so set up gearing accordingly.

Warm up Rides

On Saturday we do a relaxed 75km coffee spin taking in the stunning Gorges de la Nesque. This is a club ride at 25km/h sticking together with a short coffee stop at the mid point. On Monday we do the second summit of Ventoux from Malaucene before finding a spot near the summit to watch the pro race. 3 very different but all great over the weekend.
